Well everyone has had a busy day here at Nightrave Feilding. Gigi (Big Time Gigi) and Seattle (Big Time Seattle) went to check out Bunnings Dog Day Out in Feilding and found lots of treats and love! Gigi and Seattle are both lovely girls who are available for adoption now. Get in touch today!

We haz a sad 😔 can you help us?

Spyro (unraced, 2 years old) and Gigi (Big Time Gigi) are the most stunning pair as you can see. Sadly they have had to leave their family due to a relationship breakup.

Ideally we’d love to keep them together. The words below are from their previous family who are devastated at giving them up.

Spyro suffered a growth plate injury as a pup so never raced. What a rascal he has become, and in a delightful way. He has very high intense bursts of energy and then loves nothing more then to snuggle up next to you on the couch.
Spyro loves to be the centre of attention and will often steal a tea towel or 2 while looking at you square in the eyes before running off as if to say "catch me if you can." So much fun to be around.

He has currently been getting 2 x 40 minute walks a day and can easily walk 8kms in one session. He knows lots of commands like, toilet, stop, wait, cross (the road). Spyro would be best with another dog or someone who is home often as he loves being near.

Gigi broke a hock as a race dog but is sound and completed her rehab. Her adorable personality has really started to shine with her wanting more and more cuddles and hugs. Her tail is a real tell of how she is feeling and when she is happy or excited, man does it wag!!!!! She will sit by the door when ever she wants to go to the toilet or literally come and get you to take her outside.

She is very playful and loves her toys.

We had a wonderful day in Whanganui on Saturday with lots of interest in our beautiful adoptable dogs, and heaps of fun hanging out with the fabulous greyhound community in the River City! It was so awesome to see you all and we can't wait to do it again. Huge thanks to the fab Kelly Pettit of Speed Noodle Studios for these awesome photographs, and a big thank you to Xandi and Hadlee for their help promoting the breed!

Timona Park, Feilding - Campbell Street Entrance by the dog club.

All greyhounds welcome, wherever they were adopted from. Honorary hounds also welcome with their houndy sibs but please advise you are coming.

Leash walk around lovely Timona Park and down to the river. Offleash run available for calm, under-control greyhounds (muzzles compulsory, no exceptions) in the fenced dog club afterwards - note there is an area of suspect fencing so it may not be suitable for every hound, or honorary hounds.

Cup of tea/cold drink available afterwards - no cost.

Nails can be done - $15 per hound, proceeds to Nightrave adoptions, cash or internet banking.

Nightrave shop will be there, cash or internet banking (all profits to Nightrave adoptions)

Beautiful Barbie (Claws In Bree) had a big adventure yesterday at Southland NZ track! She managed to catch the lure and carry it off. Every greyhound’s dream race day!
Barbie is not a top race dog by any means. Even though her brother, Claws In Zorro, is one of the top 3-4 dogs in New Zealand at the moment, darling Barbie has had over 30 starts and is still a maiden.
Nevertheless, Barbie loves to race and thoroughly enjoys herself out on the track. At home, Barbie is an outgoing, very sociable and lovely wee girl. She is very gentle with children who she has grown up with and been handled by them from an early age

Hi I'm Kayla (Cool Run). As you can see I am well fostered and all ready to be your perfect pet. I would love to live with a dog of any breed, or I can also live alone. I am four years old.

I did break my front leg quite badly, so although I am all healed up I need to stay out of dog parks. But as you can see I mainly prefer to be upside down in your lounge anyhow!

Will you take me home? I love it here but I would love a family of my very very own please

Sweet Ebony (Southern Affair) is an experienced pet who is 9 years young. She is very loving, bouncy for her age, loves toys and cuddles. Ebony likes kids but can be possessive of her toys and other items so probably not suited around very young children. She is crate trained and would happily live with another dog.

Nightrave Greyhounds is proud to be a Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) rehoming partner.
GRNZ offers full support for all greyhounds as they come into the rehoming arena. Each dog receives whatever they need in terms of food, veterinary care and everyday care.
Our role includes day to day care of the dogs as they come through rehoming, including providing extra training and exposure as needed. We are fully supported by GRNZ in these endeavors and our greyhounds want for nothing.
The community of pet greyhound owners can testify to the temperament of the racing greyhound, which is entirely due to the love and care these dogs have received their entire life.
Dogs should have jobs. No animal is happy lazing around all day confined to a small back yard for its whole life - just as no human would be!! Greyhounds love to race. The minority that do not come to rehoming early and find other roles to fulfil such as dog sports, or therapeutic roles visiting rest homes as some examples.
Nightrave Greyhounds supports the continuation of greyhound racing in New Zealand and will align with GRNZ to provide for the needs of the dogs in whatever way we can.
We look forward to a decision on the industry’s future, which will give industry participants the confidence required to continue making a positive contribution to New Zealand’s economic wellbeing.
