💫 Meet the team 💫

Say hello to Rob - our in house, self professed Coffee geek. 🤓

Rob hails from the UK, where he studied graphic design and started his coffee career. We managed to entice him in a year ago, from the nomadic lifestyle of travelling in his van, to working with us full time & making some delicious brews. 🏖️

He is your go-to guy for discussing any of our single origins, brewing methods and basically anything coffee related! ☕️

His favourite coffee to drink is a Carbonic Maceration processed, Pink Bourbon Colombian pour over. (Ask him about it!)
And his fave coffee to pour is a trusty medium flat white. 👌🏼 Simplicity done well!

When he’s not working, you’ll find Rob climbing up a rock, throwing a disc around or practising Kendama (which he’s pretty impressive at). 🤯

A beautiful cake that we made this week for our friend’s wedding. They added their own dried flowers from their stunning garden 🌺💐 Is there anything better than pink, florals and fairy lights 😍 💫

As most of you know, alongside running Victus and general life, we have also been growing another baby! 🩷
Beth is now off on her maternity leave as we await our darling daughter’s arrival next month 👶🏼 
You’ll see her around still, but hopefully in a less hands-on, ‘running around the cafe’ sort of capacity! 💨 
Luckily we have a fab and extremely capable team, so you’ll be in good hands for when Beth and I will be unavailable in the early (and sleepless days!) 🥱 ☕️

📣 We are absolutely gutted to share that our amazing Barista is moving away to Chch. 🥺

Vincent will leave biggggg shoes to fill, so now we are actively looking for another superstar barista to join the Victus team. 🦸🏽‍♂️

We pride ourselves on excellent espresso and efficient service. We are continually learning and developing, and have a large range of ever-changing single origins, so a genuine interest and passion for specialty coffee is a must. We partner with for the best brews around and we work with top machinery. ☕️

This is a full time role, early starts and early finishes and pay is competitive in the local market, with a wide range of staff benefits.

💫 Meet the team 💫

This is Vincent 👋🏼 If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him already, he is our superstar Barista. 🦸🏽‍♂️

He joined the team last year, and we were pleasantly surprised by his skills, great attitude and passion for coffee. ☕️

His go to brew is a V60, where he can try many of the different single origins we have available, and his favourite coffee to pour in the Cafe is Flat White. He’s well known for his epic latte art skills, with his favourites being a seahorse or a unicorn. 🦄

When he’s not at work, you’ll find him playing some basketball 🏀, watching movies and spending that quality time with his lovely wife👰🏽.

We are looking for an extra pair of hands to join our team over the next few months, to fill some gaps with annual leave and maternity leave. If you have experience in FOH and you’re a good human, get in touch as we may have something that works for you! 🫶🏼 This would either be a casual role for those wanting that flexibility or could be a fixed term part time contract, due to the nature of the cover we need. We have 2 fresh salads daily for all of those looking for a healthy & easy option. 🥗 Today’s choice is harissa chickpea, with feta & garlic yoghurt or brown rice, sesame and roasted cauliflower.

Our team is taking a short break over Christmas to recharge their batteries and spend quality time with friends and whānau.

We’ll be open in between Christmas and New years, and back open fully from New Years onwards! 💃🏼

It’s the busiest time of year for us, so please remember to be kind to our team, waits maybe slightly longer than usual and we recommend getting in early if you have large groups and don’t want to miss out!

We are looking for a creative food enthusiast to work in our kitchen, to start before the crazy season hits! 🌞

This is a position for a Head Chef, so experience is necessary. Ultimately we are interested in the right person, with relevant skills, a great attitude, aptitude to learn & innovate, who can contribute to our culture and who can work closely with the owner/operators.

This is a full time role and working a Saturday shift is required. Currently we are closed Sundays.

The pay is competitive in the market, the Cafe is modern, with a fresh & simple food offering and we are proud of the excellent team we have!
