General garden maintenance and care. Lawns and prickle w**d spraying, Big and small gardens, urban and rural in the Tauranga area.
These are Monkey Orchids. Could have been created for the Muppets.
So that explains it.
Rose pruning time coming up. Message me if you like the flowers but not the thorns. Tauranga area only.
Wow! I've obviously been too busy to update my page.
Just a before and after of a flower garden I dug and planted for a client.
Tool I made for dead heading agapanthus on a bank.
I hope everyone had great Christmas and the New Year brings you happiness.
I will start back at work on the 5th January 2022.
There is a lot of growth happening right now. Had the hedge trimmer busy today.
Well the gardens did need a bit of rain, although three of my customers have had me put in or fix irrigation systems in their gardens. A bit frustrating not being able to work this close to Christmas and my two week break.
I wish everyone a Happy Christmas 🎅 and a Merry New Year 🎉
See you in the New Year 🐞
Continuation of a garden clean up.
Had an irrigation job to do last week. There was a path to go under from one garden to another. Nothing a bit of high pressure water and a metal rod can't handle.
Did a clean up of a crib wall and path that was overgrown with ivy. 1st photo was after I started.
Tempting though it may be, don't go out in the break in the rain to prune those few roses. They will need a few hours to heal the cut wounds before it rains again. Seal the bigger cuts with pruning paste, or cheaper, vaseline. This applys to all pruning this time of year.
Something a little different this afternoon. Dig, rammed, and planted two posts to make an espalier for a clients crabapple tree. A good workout, especially when using manual posthole borer. Thanks to Hire Pool at Barkes Corner who still have the manual borers.
Next visit will see the tree pruned and tied to the wires
The start of a clients birthday gift to her daughter, a clean up at the back of the property.
If you're stuck for a gift for someone who can't get into their garden, give me a call.
Your roses and hydrangeas may look ready to prune, but don't prune to early. The roses are resting and taking in nutrients for the next growing season, the sap is still flowing. If you prune now, they might shoot new growth which could be burnt off with a early frost.
Wait another month.
If you love the flowers, but hate the pruning, give me a call.

Just starting to do a tidy up in
Cherrywood. Aggies have been given an early trim. Work in progress. Next, the camellias along the drive.
