Last night we held our composting evening run by the Compost Collective. This was an amazing opportunity to learn about different ways we can compost - something which our Kaitiaki club are focussing on. Kaitiakitanga is one of our Values here at Chelsea and we are proud to be growing our students to be kaitiaki or guardians of our environment 🌱
If you are interested in attending please RSVP to [email protected]. It’s in the staff room and you receive a $40 voucher for a home composting kit if you attend.

We are so fortunate to have Jane from Bunnings with us this morning to plant fruit trees with some Y6 learners. These are trees that our Y6 learners can see grow over time when they visit us in years to come.
Thanks so much for our lovely treats today, PTA! They were delicious ❤️

Night, night everyone.
It was amazing to hear the great feedback that the AUT instructors had about our Year 5 team! Their problem solving and team work were impressive.
What an absolutely brilliant day! So many activities and not a lot of time to rest. The kids are doing us all proud. Here’s a snapshot of the day. See you tomorrow around 2.00pm.

It’s Teacher/Kaiako Appreciation Day this Friday.
Some of the (many)things I appreciate about our teachers:
- their care and love of our Tamariki
- the way they enquire and dig deep to get the best outcomes for our learners
- their beautiful hearts
- the hours they spend planning trips and experiences, even having sleepovers with 60+ kids 😂 (camp)
- their support of each other - it’s not an easy role at times!
- their focus on growth and being the best teachers they can be
- their vulnerability and bravery
- the way they challenge each other’s practice and beliefs without damage to mana
- the fun and laughs
- their creativity - they never fail to amaze me with the learning experiences they plan.
Please join me in celebrating our phenomenal team!
Amanda
Bit of a wet day today but the weather is not stopping our ‘up for a challenge’ campers!
