Kia ora koutou, we are very proud to announce the opening of the 2024 Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation Research and Education grants programme.
The Intensive Care Foundation supports researchers and clinician educators by raising funds for clinical research projects and the education of health professionals in intensive care through competitive grants and scholarships.
Dr Shay McGuinness and I are the New Zealand Directors on the Foundation.
The call for expressions of interest for Research grants and Education grants has opened today. More information can be found at https://www.intensivecarefoundation.org.au/applying-for-a-grant/ including a calendar that outlines timelines and a link to download the expression of interest form.
You (hopefully!) should have received a paper copy of this for your ICU which were sent to all Clinical Directors and Nurse Managers/Charge Nurses along with advertising for the ANZICS NZ regional scientific meeting.
We would love to see some applications from New Zealand Intensive Care clinicians - nurses, medical staff and allied health. Please share this information with your colleagues.
We will also be in touch later regarding a relaunch of the ICF in New Zealand
Shay and I are keen to help wherever we can. Do let us know.

We would usually hold our Annual Meeting at the New Zealand ANZICS conference in March/April each year. Due to the unpredictability of covid-19, and the uncertainty of the ANZICS conference for 2022, we have decided to move to an online replacement for our Annual meeting this year.
You have been emailed details on how to vote again this morning. Two important remits to vote on, we would like to include nursing students and PAR/Outreach nurses in the college, but to do this we need to know we have the support of members.
