The Reserve Bank removed loan-to-value (LVR) restrictions in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the last year we have seen a rapid acceleration of the housing market, with record median national house prices.

In an attempt to slow rising house prices, the Reserve Bank re-introduced LVR restrictions from the 1st March 2021.

But, the good news is that the 20% deposit exemption for purchasing off-plan, or within 6 months of completion is also back!
