Grand Designs NZ, Season 8, Episode 6

This project was a special one!

Li and Michelle first came to us 7 years ago and told us about their dream to build an off grid home, inland from Geraldine, using rammed earth and timber they had collected and milled.

Fast forward 2022 and the team and I headed to their remote site where we stayed for 2 weeks, working long hours constructing the rammed earth walls and living a very simple life once the tools were put down for the day.

This all natural materials home is a testament to Li and Michelle’s hard work and craftsmanship.

Pretty stoked to be a small part of the massive road (literally) that Li and Michelle took to realise their dream of living off grid in their rammed earth home.
