One of my favourite thinkers of all time is Alan Watts. His ideas and lectures grew my mind, helping me to overcome some dark days in my 20's. With his unique perspectives on the universe and how it might work. I was able to let go of (some) of the tight grip I had on life.

To just trust it.

Allow Life/the Universe/God/the dao/whatever you want to call it, to take me along for the ride. That everything happening in life is for your greater fulfilment. There's no need for worry.

The way to become one with the universe is to...

Trust It.

This journey of Art feels that way. I'm learning to let go of what I think the Art should be, and just allow it to happen and be what it is.

Anyone who’s seen me play live knows that sometimes I take my shirt off on stage. It’s hot up there doin the DJ thing 🥵

I get asked about the infusion site a lot now. Last year, I switched to the T-slim X2 insulin pump. It has been an absolute game-changer for my health. Before, on injections, I struggled to consistently keep my blood sugars below 10mmol. Now, I feel concerned if I test above 8! It’s a beautiful thing. If properly dialled in, this device gives me enormous control and power over my condition.

With great power, comes great responsibility. I need to be very careful when changing the infusion site. Like almost tattoo studio clean. The site stays in my system for 3 days between each change. If I’m not careful, it can get a small infection or stop delivering insulin.

Here’s some pics of the process, which can take up to 20 minutes. Now that I only do a couple of injections each week, my relationship with food has dramatically improved. No longer do I need to stab myself with a needle every time food passes my lips. I can now bolus insulin for a single lollie if I choose. The reduction in day-to-day suffering cannot be understated!

If you’re a T1DM diabetic, and you are struggling to manage your condition, I implore you to@get a pump. Mine has been mostly funded, so the cost to me has been minimal (the pump is worth $8,000). Harass your diabetes nurse! Be loud about it!
