February the 21st in the year of our Lord 2024! .nz are hosting Melbourne based post-punkers (from our research they're even as cool as their name).
We'll be joining in opening for them!
No promises but we might just debut a lil something something for this one..
Doors at 7pm! $15 at said door. I have it on good authority that all proceeds will be going towards fully reimbursing Countdown's $400 million endeavour to rebrand as Woolworths. God bless people with money but noone else

We here at The Pink Frosts wish you a very serious, and proper silly season. No funny business, no ruddy nonsense, just put your head down and grind like any other day.
But for real we've had a heck of a year! Putting out our latest EP, gigs coming out our gigs, etc. We're so thankful to everyone, as always, who's given our tunes a whirl, come on down to a show, or gone about their life conscientiously. You're all splendid, and kind.
Special thanks to .aus, those last gigs of the year that we did with you were a whole heap of unadulterated fun! And thanks to all the other fantastic performers who have honored us by playing with us. , and being the most frequent posse. We'd love to shake things up in our gigs some more, but we do so love playing with you.
We look forward to bringing you new tunes in 2024! We've got a bunch of stuff up our sleeves, and a bunch of plans in the works.
Whatever this time of the year means to you, we hope it's joyous. We hope that you have good food, and good people around you. And we hope to catch you soon!
Listen up! We are so appreciative of everyone who's made it out to attend any of our recent gigs, there was a bit of a flurry of happenings so it was super to get to enjoy them with you! If you made it out to either of the last two then we hope you enjoyed our latest tune, "Learning Portuguese".
Up NEXT! We're back at .nz supporting .aus! We'll also be making a grand return to in the near future too..
Some little known trivia about the poster depicted: Davo (far left) can be seen wearing a pretty nifty Talking Heads shirt. Of note is that I (Hedley) wanted to buy the same shirt but was unable to as we couldn't have had two band members owning it, and yet I am actually objectively a bigger Talking Heads fan?!?! If you took the time to read this, give us a "huh.. good to know.." in the comments below x

We want to thank for reviewing our latest single "A Smile Away", which will also be included in the upcoming EP. Thank you for your kind words!
"Gripping. Captivating. This gorgeous number will grab you, albeit gently, and whirl you around in a jolly dance, various aspects of your life whizzing in watercolour, leaving you in soft focus with a handful of flowers and a heaful of fondness. That is at least the general vibe emanating from 'A Smile Away', an affirmation of a song by Wellington-based New Zealanders, The Pink Frosts.
Optimism brims from the beginning, a propulsive and purposeful stride on the drums (Peter Molteno), the bass (Neale Willis) stepping carefully, softly upwards, the backdrop to a simple sun-glint of a guitar melody (Oliver Gaskell) and dreamy synth (Hedley Dew), married in musical harmony like a dawn chorus played out in post-punk. Things get distinctly more noisy with crashing cymbals and tumbling snares and swooshing guitar distortion, a welcome dynamic, joy bursting in sonic form.
It's on this alternating backdrop that Dew pours out his earnest baritone vocals, a kind of cross between Ian Curtis and Jack Steadman (Bombay Bicycle Club), conjuring tableaux so bundled with emotion yet honest and low-key they bring pre-tears heat to the eyes. I mean, "Wake up one morning with a smile on / You slept well and you don't feel worn / Breakfast of choice and the coffee's warm / The high couldn't be more lovely"? This song couldn't be more lovely."

EP RELEASE: Friday, September 29
Post-punk is an umbrella term in music, so it makes sense that our latest love letter to it is sonically, and thematically diverse.
At times intimate, at others, scathing. Warm melodies, bitter grunts, and crashes. A dance of harmonious rhythms, with varied lyrical delivery styles to suit different tones, and intents.
Unremarkable Product made itself. One of us would make a noise, the rest of us would respond. The songs fell in to place. Refined through performing them to both strangers, and loved ones.
The EP serves as a concise package that exemplifies our joyous exploration of what will happen if we keep pushing ourselves to try new things.
We're a live band, and this EP was recorded as such. Production was used with the intent of conveying our live sound, and energy.
Lyrical themes that delve in to the bittersweet territory of reminiscence, the undying struggles of just coping, and more. All found within this truly Unremarkable Product.
Footage captured at Sandbox Studio by our , featuring . Thanks for all your hard work on the EP

Originally referred to as ‘new musick’ and driven by a desire to push the boundaries of punk, and rock music. Post-punk has become one of most defining genres in alternative music since its beginnings in the late 70's.
Continuing in that legacy, Wellington’s The Pink Frosts have sought to channel their varied musical influences, such as new wave, alternative rock, and shoegaze under the guise of idealistic and experimental post-punk.
Inspired by classic acts such as Gang of Four, Joy Division, Public Image Ltd, and The Cure as well as modern groups like Fontaines DC, and Sleaford Mods – The Pink Frosts create contemporary music for troubled times, both in touch with the past and showing a relentless pursuit of challenging, and new ideas.
Formed in early 2022 and made up of drummer/producer Peter Molteno, bassist Neale Willis, guitarist Oliver Gaskell and lead vocalist/keyboardist Hedley Dew - The Pink Frosts have become a staple of the Wellington music scene, gracing the stages of iconic local venues such as San Fran, Meow, Moon, and Valhalla.
In October 2022 they released their debut album ‘Faux Pas’ – recorded and produced by drummer Molteno at Sandbox Studios in Central Wellington and featuring contributions from former bassist David Escott.
Featuring brash, and witty social commentary and lyricism, driving bass, biting and articulate guitar lines, and dynamic and powerful percussion - ‘Faux Pas’ has been described as a “quintessentially Kiwi debut” showcasing an “intriguing sound, solid songwriting and the potential of great things to come” (NZ Musician).
Now in late 2023 with further shows lined up across Aotearoa, the group prepare the release of their upcoming EP entitled ‘Unremarkable Product’. Featuring the lead single ‘A Smile Away’ - a melancholic ballad “for fans of the jangly post-punk sensibilities of Echo & the Bunnymen, The Sound and The Cure” (Jangle Pop Hub) – ‘Unremarkable Product’ shows The Pink Frosts bringing new sounds, ideas, and themes into their repertoire.
