To celebrate our founder’s ‘s birthday today, who proudly shares her birth month with International Women Day this year, we would like to acknowledge and celebrate the Javanese women before her - whose beauty complemented the rich history of the Batik they wore so gracefully, and whose dedication to their family values reflected the Batik philosophy so accordingly. Pictured here is a young Javanese women wearing magnificent Batik cloths in the year of 1885 in Kebumen, Java. (Photo credit: Collection National Gallery of Australia).
Happy Lunar New Year of the Dragon 🐉🐲. May the new year bring prosperity, luck, and happiness in the year to come🍊🏮🧧. The Chinese culture has long influenced the motifs in Batik since as far back as the
1300 - particularly in Pesisir Batik (Coastal Batik). Along with phoenix and Qilin,
dragon is a recurring motif found in Coastal Batik. Our current collection, The Coastal Collection, was created to celebrate the cultural fusion and the acculturation that made Batik an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity today.
Wishing our customers, partners, and suppliers a joyful & peaceful Christmas this year 🌲❤️💚. We would also like to acknowledge those Batik artists who came before us for their talent and dedication which has paved the way for the art form to evolve throughout the history 🙏🏻. It’s winter season here in the Southernmost Hemisphere ❄️. Reminiscing our tropical gateway ☀️🌾.
For one of our most recent projects, we created a customized soft furnishing for the interior of the beautiful classroom of Little Earth Montessori Kapiti in Paraparaumu, New Zealand.
The bespoke textile design features the centre’s logo - originally created as an amalgamation of the ‘giving tree’ or ‘learning tree’ which reflects the founder’s Maria Montessori’s teaching philosophy, and New Zealand’s own Pohutukawa.

Happy Holidays from our part of the world to yours ✨🌏
At during our recent trip in Indonesia. This amazing resort overlooks the incredible Borobudur Temple - a UNESCO world heritage and the largest Buddhist temple in the world located in Central Java, the birthplace of Inland Batik (Batik Pedalaman). Many of the motifs of Batik originated from this region were influenced by the Buddhist culture.
Indonesia 🇮🇩. The native land of Batik. Nowhere else inspires us creatively as a brand as much as this place does.

Details of our Blush/Pink limited edition handmade quilted-style batik face mask from The Coastal Collection I. The gold color outlines of the pattern mirrors the outlines in batik Prada - a type of batik originated from the 19th century in Central Java, Indonesia which utilizes a unique technique of applying gold leaf or dust onto cloth to combine with the design of the fabric. Adorned with exotic contemporary batik print, our masks are breathable, machine-washable, and come in an elastic-fitting style with comfortable fit and shape to contour to your face. Available in three other vibrant colorways.
