We’re hitting the pause button on Milky Haze for awhile!

This isn’t going your Black Friday sale post that people have probably expected from us, but the complete opposite as Milky Haze is being put on pause indefinitely. 😮‍💨

As most of you know, I am pregnant with my second child that we were longing for and this pregnancy has not been kind to me in terms of work and baking has been beyond hard for the past 4 months with nausea and sickness as this baby apparently hates cookies 🙊🤣

I PROMISE this isn’t going to be forever but for the mean time I need to prioritise my health and well-being. As selfish as it is, I really want to enjoy the next 5 months before we become a family of 4 without the extra pressure or stress on me and as much as I’m sad to be stepping away from my biz baby, it’s also giving me a huge amount of relief. 💗

Our website will be closed to orders for now but you will still catch me on here chatting on stories and the DMs are always open to talk all things motherhood, breastfeeding and life! I may be open to a few bake days here and there or any urgent orders but will touch base with my capacity once I am over the halfway mark 🤗

Let’s talk feeding schedules! ⏰
I remember writing down literally every feed and out put with my first baby and watching things round the clock to make sure I was doing it right, turns out I was but I didn’t need to be so hard on my self! 🥹

Ever had someone say your baby should be feeding every 2-3 hours and thought “but my baby is feeding all the time”? It’s a good gage to go off buuut it’s not always how things go on hungry baby schedules & most cluster feed for hours on end, especially when you want to sleep. 🥱

Some babies are hungrier than others and want to be on the breast constantly, others sometimes want to snack and come back or are using the breast for purely comfort!

If you are feeding your baby a lot, it is NOT a sole indicator of your supply being low! Baby could be working overtime to bring your supply up to what they need or to maintain your supply. Don’t forget to check in with your midwife or lactation consultants for any worries or thoughts you have.

Next time you’re stuck in a cluster feeding party, that feels as if it’ll never end just remember baby is doing what is biologically normal and you are not doing anything wrong by feeding your baby when they need/want. 💗

This world breastfeeding week is all about empowering and enabling the feeding parent in the workplace! When returning to work there is often a lot of stress and pressure felt if we are still our babies and just because we return to work doesn’t mean we have to stop feeding. Here are our top 3 tips to help! 🍈🍈

🌟Know your pump🌟

Test out pumping at home before you start work again. Making sure your fl**ge size (the piece of plastic your ni**le goes into) his correct & that your pump is working well. Everyone is different and will need different settings to optimise pumping sessions.

🌟Feed as much as possible at home🌟

Try to feed as much as possible before you start work that day. This will help reduce the amount you need to pump throughout the day and relieve some pressure on your b***s. Offer a feed in the morning and at drop off if baby will take it.

🌟Introduce a bottle before you return to work🌟

If your baby is exclusively breast fed, it is important to know they take a bottle happily. As early as you are comfortable, is usually easiest as some babies will happily take a bottle at 2 weeks old, then not have another bottle until 6 months and then completely refuse. Practice as much as possible as sometimes it can take a bit for baby to get used to. They will (hopefully) still enjoy feeding from the breast too.
