Ayahuasca "Diet" is NOT a "Deita"
There is a common misunderstanding in the West between an "Ayahuasca Diet" and an "Ayahuasca Dieta"
An Ayahuasca "Diet" refers to the fairly bland food you eat before, during and after an Ayahuasca retreat to remove overly stimulating foods from distracting you from subtle emotions in your body.
A "Dieta" - often called a "Master plant dieta" is a much deeper process where you use additional plants, such as Bobinsana, Chiric Sanango or Noya Rao alongside a journey with Ayahuasca.
These master plant dietas are typically much deeper than just journeying with mother ayahuasca alone, as you had additional plant spirits to guide you.
And just becuase the food is bland, it's still a pleasure to eat during an exhausting Ayahuasca retreat or Master Plant Dieta!

Each week, the shamans and residents of the local village attend Kene Nete Healing Center create a "Shipibo Art Market" where guests can get their hands on unique pieces.

Three smiling faces, one mission to uplift the consciousness of humanity.
Maestro Esteban (left) and Maestra Orlinda (right) started as healers in their communities in early life. Wanting to share their healing skills with others, they spent over 15 years each working at various westernised retreats in Puccalpa and Iquitos, only to find these retreats didn’t follow the Shipibo way.
Urban (Center) was a guest at one of the retreats they worked for, when they shared their vision to create an authentic plant medicine retreat that follows the Shipibo ways, Urban took the opportunity to help them on their journey.
A few years later, they now all work together at the healing center they have created together - Kene Nete, built just a short walk from their home village of Pahoyan, a short boat ride from the city of Pucallpa, Peru.

Many of our guests speak about having dreams of traveling down a river in a small wooden boat. Shortly later, they come across images like this that vividly remind them of the dream they had.
To them, this was mother ayahuasca's way of calling them to the jungle.

Meet Maestra Olinda, the driving force behind the healing at Kene Nete.
Olinda grew up in the remote Amazon. She was introduced to medicinal plants early, with her mother being the Curandera of their community.
From age 16, Olinda worked jointly with her mother, holding ayahuasca ceremonies, and learning ancient healing methods with plant medicine.
When her mom passed, Olinda decided to continue her ancestor’s path and has ever since been the official Curandera of her community.
After spending 15 years working for westernised retreats, she was deeply saddened by the lack of respect for the Shipibo traditions and decided she would no longer tolerate it.
Several years later, she helped create Kene Nete Healing Center which is run by her family and others from her village.

Welcome to your new Maloca 🛖
This sacred place is where our ayahuasca ceremonies are held every second night.
Picture this. Darkness falls and the jungle comes alive with the gentle buzz of night-time critters. The air is still and calm.
Walking on the nourished dirt of the Amazon rainforest, you approach the Maloca in silence and slowly enter this sacred space.
Inside are four shipibo shamans grounding the energy as they prepare the guide you on this deep inner journey. You all smile at each other as you choose your area for tonight's ceremony, accompanied by a purge bucket.
Maestra Orlinda, the shaman leading tonight's ceremony, lights a mapacho to mark the opening of the ceremony and continues to cleanse the space whilst blessing the ayahuasca that will guide everyone through this ceremony.
The shaman pours the first cup of ayahuasca, and her eyes gaze toward you as she offers the cup in your direction. The time has come. You connect with your intention for tonight's ceremony, consume your cup of ayahuasca, and return to your mattress.
This marks the start of your journey with Mother Ayahuasca tonight, and she's got one hell of a journey planned to take you on.

A Short Tour of our Maloka

Hi everyone,

We just opened our ayahuasca and master plant dieta retreat! With the help of prior guests and our family, we have managed to set up the retreat just outside our ancestral village of Pahoyan in the heart of the Amazon outside Pucallpa in Peru.
