The wall came down today, so we can see the new space in its entirety.

The great migration…we sold the wood burning stove and Steve got it moved out to make way for the furniture to be moved out and into the dining room. Still trying to gear myself up for the dusty mess of lathe and plaster removal, then electrical then the dust and mess of drywall, mudding and sanding off. It’ll be wonderful when it’s all said and done.

Project #855. Hired two young men to get this cleaned out. Day #1. I can’t wait to have my story studio space once and for all. I’ve tried in years past to get it done to no avail. Water and electric is getting ram to it and I’ll have heat and air.

Project #854. Long time coming. I guess this is the year it’s all getting done. This winter weather has given Steve a lot more outdoor options. He’s taking every advantage and loves doing it.

This kind of gives you and idea with the walk gone. If you can imagine, the existing wall is roughly the beam second from the left. We’re going to have a two-sided fireplace. The room on the other side of the fireplace will be smaller and that is where I think we’ll be most of the time when we’re not having company.

It’s been forever since I’ve posted on here. We’ve been busy starting projects that we’ve wanted to do for several years now. Steve is out digging a trench for water and electric lines all over our property…we’ll have water and electric at our shelter house and can have our camper down there too, if ever we want to go “camping” for a change of pace. It’ll be fun to sleep there with the grands.

Our house was built in 1918 and as with most vintage houses, although big, it’s made up of many rooms and even more doors and windows. And, our living room is on the NE corner and is always dark and cold. I NEED light and warm.

As our family has grown, in size and numbers, so does this room in our house. Steve has added on a 12x25’ addition. It’s going to be heavenly.
