++PM James Marape's Partnership with EU to Support Forest Preservation and Green Growth in PNG++
PM James Marape's commitment to the preservation of PNG's forests and biodiversity and his goal to move towards a green, carbon-neutral economy by 2050 is important for the country's sustainable development.
His partnership with the EU on the 'Forest, Climate Change and Biodiversity' project will provide a stronger regulatory and institutional framework, increase access to climate finance, and boost public and private sector investment for sustainable growth and decent jobs.
This project will benefit PNG by supporting the sustainable management of its natural resources, protecting its forests and increasing its resilience against climate change. Overall, PM James Marape's leadership is crucial for the long-term economic, social, and environmental development of PNG.
++Condolence & Apology by Simon Kaiwi++
LATE JENNELYN KENNEDY
It is with great pain, sorrow and shame that I stand up as the patriarch of my family and pass our deepest condolences to the members of the late Jennelyn Kennedy's family.
We also apologize to the nation and all our womenfolk that a man whose cold blooded, animalistic behavior has caused the death of a beautiful young lady. The unspeakable actions he forced upon a young mother has caused her death. The insurmountable pain he has caused Jennelyn’s family is unbearable and incomprehensible.
I have spent the younger twenty years of my life as a law enforcement officer, fighting for the prevention of cruelty and violence upon innocent and vulnerable people, especially mothers, wives, daughters and sisters.
And never in my lifetime would | have thought someone in my family would commit such an unspeakable, murderous act upon my own family member. No words can sufficiently describe the anger and pain he has inflicted upon both sides of the family.
Although it does not come close to being enough, we are deeply sorry for this terrible tragedy. We pray and hope that justice must be done soon.
'He was a man and lived his own
life, accumulated his own wealth and conducted himself in a way he thought fit.'
"We hereby wish to put it on record that any insinuations that we funded him to live his lifestyle is totally wrong. We are totally disgusted and ashamed for what he has brought sete both our families."
But that does not equate with the horrendous pain Jennelyn endured during her final days. For that, we are so deeply
sorry.
Our family and tribesmen stand together with Jennelyn’s family to condemn the barbaric and heinous actions inflicted upon her. We are in mourning as we have also lost a daughter, granddaughter, sister and mother of two beautiful children. We stand behind the Kennedy family and want to assure that Bosip Kaiwi must be brought to justice and made to answer for his unspeakable and barbaric actions. We will let the law deal with him without any interference or influence.
As Papua New Guinean's, we have our customs regarding deaths, We will ensure that Jennelyn will be accorded full respect until we rest her.
We therefore join fellow countrymen and women to condemn this crime and
full and other similar actions by our men upon our mothers, wives, daughters, aunties and sisters in this country.
Domestic violence is not only inexcusable, it is a crime!! and we need to stand together as a nation to stop it.
Our women need our protection and our support and it's everyone's responsibility to both give and provide it.
MAY OUR GOD GIVE HIS MERCY, Love, CARE AND COMFORT TO JENNELYN'S FAMILY DURING THIS TRYING TIME.
-THE KAIWI FAMILY -
Namah tells PM Marape to 'Take Back' Hela first.
PNG OPPOSITION Leader Belden Namah has called on Prime Minister James Marape to “take back” his district in Hela before more people die and properties destroyed.
Namah was commenting on police officers storming the Hela provincial headquarters and treasury building in Tari on Wednesday morning forcing their closure.
They were demanding to be paid allowances for the security operations they were involved in during the state of emergency. Namah said hundreds of people led by the police officers entered the Hela White House, the treasury building and police station, sending staff home.
They wanted the Hela MPs including Tari-Pori MP Marape to return to the province to address their problems.
“The Hela people are fed up with the lack of leadership on the ground where warlords control the districts and services are grinding to a stop,” Namah said.
“Dozens of people including police and defence force personnel have been murdered and wounded in tribal wars, particularly in the Tari-Pori district.
“That is why I am renewing my call for Prime Minister James Marape to resign, go back and take back Tari first.
“Schools and health facilities have been burnt to the ground and the people are desperate for the survival of their families.”
Marape could not be reached for a comment yesterday.
But Hela Governor Philip Undialu said no funds had been allocated to cater for such allowances and called on Police Commissioner David Manning to reprimand the officers for the unruly behaviour.
Namah said when such public protests where the people and the police join together and storm government facilities including the police station, “you know something is seriously wrong”.

NBC News
PM Marape's "TAKE BACK PNG" a blatant joke, totally fake, and utter rubbish!!
Prime Minister James Marape since taking office as PM advocate for progress and preached all manner of positive vibes including his popular 'Take Back PNG' slogan.
He went on using his 'Christian' status to convince people that a new day as dawn and PNG will be the first "Rich Black Christian Nation." Transparency and accountability would prevail and all manner of corruption would be vigorously crumbled.
It's been a while now and have we achieved those? Or are we even getting there? Or are we seeing any changes?
The short answer is NO.
Why?
Because Marape himself seem to contradict himself by making some very unwise, and obviously biased decision which is and may fuel more corruption in this nation.
He is fooling the people of this nation to believe in him and dance to his music when at the back, he himself keeps encouraging corruption and nepotism on the highest level.
Since taking office, he made his election manager John Akipe the Secretary for Defence and his younger brother Larson Marape as Contract Officer in PNGDF, bypassing qualified Papua New Guineans with semi-educated wantoks.
As if that's not enough, today, he made a Southen Highlands warlord a member of the Board of Trustee of the Community Benefit Fund for the National Gaming Control board. (See attached Gazettal Notice)
That man is Steven Temo, a street criminal and warlord turned political allie of SHP leaders who built his empire through fraudulently obtaining public funds by false claims using threat and force.
The whole of Mendi and Southern Highlands knows this crook.
This deliberate act by PM in engaging corrupt people in such agency that sources funds for the state for community purposes speaks otherwise of the so-called Godly character of Mr Marape.
It seems PM Marape's "Taking Back PNG" slogan is just a smoke screen.
Infact, he is just good as corrupt!!!
Period.!!
Where is Mekere? Why is he leaving his small electorate unattended?
Those of you who are in support of Sir Mekere, please advise him (Sir Mekere Morata, Member for Moresby North West) to come and do something in his electorate.
In his campaign once he said Morata was named after him. All the road in Morata have potholes every where. Many people in his Electoral have no proper water and land titles, rundown schools and aid post.
Moresby North West is a small electorate compared to other districts in the country but still get K10 million DSIP funding. But where does this money go? Not one time he comes to morata or Gerehu to speak to his people to address these issues or convene a gathering for a ground breaking ceremony to open a new project under his leadership.
Please come and fix you small electorate before you fix the whole country.
I personally voted you in the last election and now I am waiting for you to come and fix the the pothole ridden road in your electorate please.
¶¶Is putting someone's face on PNG currency a pressing issue in taking back PNG?¶¶
~By Andy Mari'Bera~
Who wants to put any face on a currency that is losing its value? PNG Kina is fast eroding and losing value and it's not competitive on the FX international market. Focus should be on fixing the economy instead. Funny how politicians make decisions.
~By Okuk Mori Rogerson~
PM MARAPE WHAT A CRAZY IDEA TO EVEN THINK OF PUTTING THIS GUY ON PNG K100 NOTE!!!
YOU ARE LOSING YOURSELF DAILY AND ARE TOO SLOW TO ACT AS PM IN THE PRIORITY AREAS WHERE YOUR ATTENTION IS NEEDED. THIS GUY SENT MERCENARIES TO KILL OUR OWN FOLKS IN BOUGAINVILLE.
~ Come on PM, there are many issues on your table to attend to and plan to recover our economy than talking about putting faces on a currency that is undergoing serious devaluation ~

¶¶GOVT STOLE DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FROM LOGGING COMMUNITIES¶¶
~By staff Reporter Via PNGi blog~
More than K100 million collected by the government from logging companies to fund community development projects has been stolen or misused. Senior departmental heads appointed as trustees have failed in their duties and the biggest beneficiary has been the government itself, which has unlawfully taken more than K80 million of community funds.
These are findings contained in a scathing Auditor General’s report recently released to the public.
It is now well-documented that large-scale logging by foreign-owned companies does not bring lasting development to the communities who suffer the often devastating environmental and social impacts.
This fact was acknowledged by government more than a decade ago when the Log Export Development Levy (LEDL) was introduced.
The levy is an additional tax paid by logging companies on every cubic metre of timber they export.
All monies collected is then supposed to be used by government to fund the agriculture and infrastructure development projects in communities impacted by logging that the companies so frequently promise, but so rarely deliver.
Image: Logging company roads last no longer than the logging itself. The Log Export Development Levy was supposed to fund permanent infrastructure like steel and concrete bridges.
Unfortunately, government has proven to be no more reliable than the foreign logging companies in upholding its side of the bargain.
Between 2012 and 2015, more than K100 million in levies was collected by government and placed into a trust account. However, in a devastating set of findings, the Auditor General has revealed how those funds, intended to alleviate suffering in logging communities, have been stolen and misused.

¶¶ THE BIGGEST SCAM IN THE PNG NATIONAL DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (NDoH)¶¶
Sir John Pundari and the PAC team must thoroughly investigate Borneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd, former Health Secretary Dr Nicholas Mann, former Director of Medical Supplies Branch Mr Igo Baru, Senior Procurement Officer Mr Elari Kou, current Health Secretary Mr Pascoe Kase and the Boneo's Poh Brothers including Mrs Lucy Poh.
It all commenced during the time of Dr Nicholas Mann who was then the Health Secretary in 2006. Borneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd was awarded contracts with millions of kina by Dr Nicholas Mann and Mr Igo Baru since and still continues to date under Mr Pascoe Kase. Majority of the drugs supplied are allegedly sub-standards drugs etc.
Interestingly, Mr Igo Baru currently served as a Company Director for Boneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Right after the 2017 National General Elections, the GoPNG paid Boneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd K50million for procurement and distribution of medicines and medical supplies including the Health Centre Kits.
Where is the K50 million Kina vanished to? Reliably informed the K50 million was used for the last General Election 2017 in Milne Bay Province for the Alotau Accord. It's only a camouflage awarding the contract to purchase the Medical Kits. In reality, it is the expenses for the members to be paid, support and joined the Government.
In spite of 13 years awarding contracts to Boneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd, the public health system in PNG continues to deteriorated and experienced prolonged nil stock of essential medicines and medical supplies.
The awarding of the contract to Boneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd by the top brass of PNG NDoH seems to be the biggest scam in PNGs history since 2006.
Over these number of years, more than K1.5 Billion of Kina has been squandered through this scam. This warrant an immediate Commission of Inquiry.
The names on Part 1 provided are just a few, more to add on including how LD Logistics Ltd was incorporated (IPA No 1-59669 registered on the 2nd of May 2007) to serve the thieving cartels needs. It was well planned by these cartels in the history of the National Health Department (NDoH).
The Marape-Davies Government MUST warrant an immediate COI, suspend and investigate the following officers involved.
1. Mr Paul Dopsie - Executive Manager Corporate Services (NDoH) directly responsible for the procurement and distribution of medicines and medical supplies.
2. Mr Kenneth Kachau - former Receiving Officer, Central Medical Stores Stores POM. A close aide to Mr Chris Tarur. He is related to Mr Marcus Kachau (Director -Madang Provincial Health Office). Mr Marcus Kachau was also investigated for misuse of K2million health grants. He engaged Mr Allan Kango former pharmacy boss at POM General Hospital as a consultant in the failed "Kalibobo Approaches" medical supplies management program for Madang province. Mr Allan Kango lost the election in 2017. While Mr Kenneth Kachau registered and owned a pharmaceutical company based in POM.
3. Mr Chris Tarur - former Manager/Store Technical Advisor Central Medical Stores POM. He is the mastermind behind the registration of LD Logistics Ltd and awarding of logistics contract with NDoH since 2007. Mr Igo Baru was still the Director of Procurement and Distribution at NDoH that time.
4. Ms Loina Yafai (and or Mr Wauwa Legu) - Technical Officer, Medical Supplies Procurement and Distribution (NDoH). The corrupt and inexperienced technical officers.
5. Mr Willie Kilepa - Technical Advisor, Medical Supplies Procurement and Distribution (NDoH). Behaves like Mr Vali Karo - Turns a blind eye to the corruption at NDoH.
6. Mr Elari Kou - Senior Procurement Officer Medical Supplies Procurement and Distribution (NDoH) and owner of JED Logistics Ltd. It is alleged that this officer owns a number of rental properties and cars in POM including having three (3) wives and frequents Australia in vacations.
7. Ms Jonila Kepas - currently is the Manager for Pharmaceutical Standards at NDoH. She and her husband own a company that is supplying laboratory supplies, equipment and chemicals to the NDoH. She is abusing her powers for her own gain. Isn't this conflict of interest?
8. The secretary (Name??) to Mr Elari Kou Senior Procurement Officer NDoH owns a security firm that is currently being contracted to provide security services at Area Medical Stores Madang. Isn't this conflict of interest? Is this to shut her from exposing her boss and others corruption dealings with medical supplies procurement at the NDoH?
After Mr Igo Baru left NDoH to be a Director of Boneo Pacific Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Me Vali Karo was then appointed in the position. Along the way, Mr Vali Karo was suspended for his negligence in turning a blind eye on the corruption involving medical supplies procurement and distribution but could not trace any dealings or thieving on his part. He was then recalled back to his former position.
Mr Pascoe Kase was then appointed as the Health Secretary during Michael Malabag time as the Minister for Health. Mr Pasco Kase was supported by AusAID for the position at all costs for reason(s) only known to the Government of Australia.
Mr Pascoe Kase appointed Loina Yafai, wife of former Deputy Secretary of Finance implicated in the Paul Paraka Saga. She has no experience in the pharmaceutical industry. How on earth was she offered the job? It is alleged that the connection was her husband. How lucky for a person who has no experience and yet holds an important position lucratively paid with a backlog of neglected works. It is public knowledge that she flies to Australia every Fridays and resumes work every Monday morning. Is this part of her employment contract allowances? How on earth did she manage to fly every week to Oz? Do up your mathematics.
No wonder all the procurements are staggering behind without giving any care on the urgency to patients need for quality, safe and affordable medicines.
Hence the people allegedly responsible for the prolonged nil stock of medicines and medical supplies are Mr Wilie Kilepa, Ms Loina Yafai/Wauwa Legu, Mr Vali Karo, Mr Paul Dopsie, Mr Pascoe Kase and LD Logistics Ltd.
LD Logistics Ltd was linked to the Department of Health by Mr Chris Tarur, the terminated Manager of Central Medical Stores POM. He is related to the owner of LD Logistics Ltd (Tolai blokes). He was terminated together with Mr Kenneth Kachau for corruption in the GoPNG medical supplies procurement and distribution process.
LD Logistics Ltd were the sponsors of former Madang MP Nixon Duban who is the right-hand man of former PMPO. The owner (Mr Francis Wagaia) of LD Logistics Ltd was seen frequenting Madang and staying at Madang Resort during the election (including re-elections) of Nixon Duban.
Even though LD Logistics Ltd were not performing why were Pascoe Kase and Paul Dopsie renewing their logistics contract? How can they be paid for not delivering medical supplies right to the health facilities and yet fully paid for their contractual obligations?
It is important to note that the current Health Minister Hon Elias Kapavore is the former CEO of Vanimo General Hospital. He once reported directly to Mr Pascoe Kase the current Secretary to NDoH. He is very well versed with the prolonged nil stock issues while serving as the CEO of Vanimo General Hospital. He was also one of the CEOs of public hospitals in PNG who were warned by the current health secretary not to speak to the media regarding the prolonged nil stock of medical supplies. So in essence, he is very well versed with the medical supplies situation faced by the public health system in PNG.
Now, will the good minister for Health take appropriate action(s) against the Department of Health and or allow Mr Pascoe Kase to go continue to overlook the minister as if he is still the CEO of Vanimo General Hospital? The ball is now in the Minister's court. He must refer to the publication on the BIGGEST SCAM NO 1 and now SCAM NO 2 in the PNG National Department of Health being exposed openly and is now public knowledge.
How long and low can the Minister for Health continue to defend the corrupt Secretary for Health and the failures of the senior public servants at the NDoH?
If he continues to defend the Secretary for Health, one can only assume he has some dealings with the Health Secretary while being the CEO of Vanimo General Hospital. Perhaps the next article will be to expose the irregularities in the awarding of contract(s) for the design and construction of the Admin Complex of Vanimo General Hospital.

¶¶KPHL must explain to PAC on PNGLNG Revenue¶¶
~By Suave G. Seeto - Posted on Facebook~
The state owned Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) has been directed to give it's report to the PAC by the Deputy Prime Minister at the instruction of the Prime Minister who is the Trustees shareholder on behalf of the people. So KPHL Management should not try to further mislead our people on this issue. KPHL must comply with PAC request to furnish reports on the PNGLNG Revenue from the 500 LNG shipments since 2014.
KHPL is subject to scrutiny by the parliament through the PAC. As part of the Marape/Steven Goverments TAKE-BACK PNG policy; Sir John Pundari and Garry Juffa have been tasked to take back KPHL and other SoEs that Peter O'Neill used to milk like ATM machines to fund his political meanuvoring to stay in power.
Those times of milking the Cow (KPHL) is over, now is time to take back that Cow and nourish it to good health. That job has been given to a very senior Statesman and recently knighted parliamentarian of 25years experience, Sir John Pundari. When a veteran like Sir John is charged by PM Marape to do the job, one must know that the job will be done and no threats, intimidations, favor or bag of money will stop the Knight. When you have a equally capable and vocal politician like the firebrand governor of Oro Province Hon. Garry Juffa as his Deputy Chairman, you can expect these thieves and cockroaches to be exposed.
If we expected Take Back PNG to be on a grand scale with the arrest of Peter O'niel than we will not recognize that PM Marape has in fact started taking back PNG by appointing a very senior politician such as Sir John to be in charge of PAC.
It is hypocritical for us to demand PM Marape to Take Back PNG whilst failing to realize he is doing it; one instance is the appointment of Sir John Pundari as Chairman of PAC and tasking him to scrutinize KPHL, people's Cash Cow which has been abused. Yet when PAC trys to do its job we are too quick to defend KPHL and the legacy of Peter Oniel by supporting the corrupt Management and Board of KPHL chaired by a known croock (Andrew Baing) who was dismissed from office after he deposited public funds into his personal bank account.
It seems PNG has never learned; last time we made a known croock (Peter O'Neill-NPF) Prime Minister, he ran this country down. From the K71 Million Paraka Saga to K3Billion UBS Loan to Papua LNG and other corrupt practices.
Public must demand KPHL to comply with the PAC request and commend Sir John Pundari, Hon. Garry Juffa and the Members of the Public Accounts committee for its decision to hold KPHL Mangaement to account for the proceeds from the 500 Shipment from the PNGLNG Project.
TAKE BACK KPHL, TAKE BACK PNG!!

¶¶Prime Minister must show achievements by 6 September or move aside¶¶
~By REGGIE ALIAMBO~ via pngblogs~
If the Prime Minister has no achievements and only failures to show for when he reaches 100 days in office on 6 September, then he should move aside before he ruins this country. After making so many promises this prime minister has not made a single decision that has moved this country forward. He cannot keep blaming the former government for his inability to make decisions and has to accept that he is driving the economy into the ground.
The first one hundred days is when a new government is supposed to set its plans into motion. But nothing new is in motion, in fact, the country and the economy is slowing down as this prime minister dithers and cannot make a decision on any important issue. All we hear about is consultations and discussions and sharing ideas and announcements that there will be more announcements coming soon.
The Marape government has failed on the K45 billion Papua LNG project with investment partners getting ready to walk away. The company total is now talking about taking legal action against the government to recover the billions of kina they have already invested in the project. The Marape government tearing up this deal will hurt landowners and we will lose tens of thousands of jobs in the project and all the related economic activities.
The Prime Minister has misled the country on debt when first he told the country that the government would no longer borrow money. Then he released a statement saying he wants china to give a k27 billion loan, and the next day he said that was fake news even though the press statement was released by his own media office. Only this week he has asked Australia for a K3.5 billion loan to support the budget this year and the Australian government is backing away from this.
Now the government is clamping down on press freedom by sacking the news director at the government-owned television station EMTV. We must maintain press freedom in this country and the prime minister is restricting this by making EMTV and NBC nothing but political mouthpieces for the government. Nevill Choi must be reinstated and the prime minister must apologise for stamping on press freedom in Papua New Guinea.
For all the hope and the promise this government claimed to bring when they came to office, they have done nothing and just sitting around talking for three months saying they are the new generation. This is not about age, or claiming to be a new generation. James Marape is the second oldest prime minister at his time of taking office with only Sir Mekere Morauta being older when he became prime minister. James Marape is only five years younger than Peter O’Neill so this talk about age and new generations is just a distraction.
This country wants a leader who will make decisions, not just talk and preach and go around in circles not knowing what to do. By Friday, September 6, if the Prime Minister has nothing to show for the opportunity that has been given to him, he should step down and make way for a leader with experience and determination.
The time for talk is over! This Prime Minister must start to move forward or move aside.
An Open Letter to Bryan Krammer
~By Kombulno Kip~
Dear Hon. Bryan Kramer
Before you became the member for Madang Open, you did not campaign for structural, legislative or policy changes. If I can remember correctly, you campaigned to end corruption. You campaigned to expose the perpetrators and serve them justice.
I commend you for living up to your talks on Facebook and other media when you were mandated by the people of Madang to shake the tree of corruption. I commend you for shaking the tree of corruption so hard that the monkeys fell off. Some fell silently whilst some screamed the loudest. I believed, you were God sent, so as the rest of gullible Papua New Guineans. Now your status is ranked top in terms of popularity amongst the simple people. PNG believes you more than the PM.
PNG rejoiced when you were plucked amongst the opposition against your will to be bestowed the Police ministry. We anticipated more radical moves to fully finish what you've started. But you're now switching the path from serving justice to policies and legislative matters. We appreciate the path you're taking for the greater good of the country going forward. We understand, it is a noble cause because the Police force will never be politicised in the many years to come. Thank you for that change and thank you for setting the precedence no other Minister in the short political history of PNG has undertaken.
However, as your staunch and dedicated supporter, I beg you to feed the monster that you created. Right now, we the gullible Papua New Guineans need to see what you've started. We need to see this two issues resolved under your ministry:
1). Fazilla Bazari & Powes Parkop's Yoga Business! A case you've filed complaints at the Ombudsman and fraud squad.
What is stopping you as a minister of police to direct Mathew Damaru to investigate and arrest?
2). Manumanu Land Scandal
Fabian Pok and Peter O'Neill have been partners in crime and benefactors of the NPF fraud. Now William Duma has joined hands with them in the Manumanu land deal where millions of peoples monies have disappeared.
There are many other allegations of mismanagement and grand theft by our politicians which my require COIs or systematic approaches in serving justice to the implicated but I believe the above two are within your powers and jurisdiction to fast tract and GIVE CONFIDENCE to your followers and PNG people at large.
The clock is ticking and Papua New Guineans are very impatient people. Two years is not a very long time and our trust and believe in your leadership is growing thin by the day.
We are sure and we very much hope to have some answers before 31st December 2019.
You #1 follower!
