At 1:00 AM later, March 28, 2020 (Philippine Time), Pope Francis will bestow his Apostolic Blessing to the City of Rome and the World. We encourage everyone to watch as the televised blessing merits a plenary indulgence.

Ang Kalendaryong Liturhikal ng ating Simbahan ay nagsisimula sa Unang Linggo ng Adbiyento. Maligayang Bagong Taon po, mga kapwa Katoliko! 😇

PANALANGIN

Maraming salamat po Panginoon sa araw na ito, sa pagtatapos ng buwan ng Nobyembre. Salamat po sa lahat ng biyaya. Salamat po sa lahat ng pag-gabay at pagiingat na ipinagkaloob Mo sa amin. Salamat po sa lakas na ibinibigay mo sa tuwing kami'y nanghihina. Salamat po sa Iyong pagtitiyaga at Iyong walang-hanggang awa. Salamat po Ama sa Iyong pagmamahal.

Isang buwan na lamang po at magtatapos na ang taon. Muli po kaming lumalapit sa Iyo Ama at humihingi ng tawad sa mga pagkakamali at pagkakasala na aming nagawa. Sa aming paghihintay ngayong panahon ng Adbiyento, nawa ay maging handa kami sa Kanyang pagbabalik at maging tapat sa aming bokasyon bilang mga Kristiyano. Nawa ang lahat ng inaasahan Mo na gawin namin ay magawa namin ng wasto at ng may buong giliw. Ang lahat ng ito'y aming inilalapit sa Iyo Diyos Ama, sa Ngalan ng Iyong Bugtong na Anak na si Hesus, na nabubuhay at naghahari kasama Mo at ng Espirito Santo, Iisang Diyos, ngayon at magpakailan man.

Adbiyento 2019. 😇

On the evening of November 1 up to November 2, the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed is solemnly observed.

This day of commemoration began early in the Middle Ages with annual prayers for the dead in monastic communities. Fixed on this day, it spread more widely after the tenth century and now ranks with the principal feast days in the liturgical calendar. Commonly known as All Souls, it expresses Christian faith in the communion of saints and our need to pray for one another in the Church, especially those souls in purgatory, “who have been buried in their human imperfection.”

Even when 2 November falls on a Sunday, the commemoration of all the faithful departed is celebrated. The priest is allowed to celebrate three Masses for the dead. In addition, starting November 1 to November 8, the faithful may avail the Plenary Indulgence.

A plenary indulgence, applicable only to the souls in purgatory, is granted to the faithful who, (1) on any and each day from November 1 to 8, devoutly visit a cemetery and pray, if only mentally, for the departed; (2) on All Souls' Day (or, according to the judgment of the ordinary, on the Sunday preceding or following it, or on the solemnity of All Saints), devoutly visit a church or an oratory and recite an Our Father and the Creed.

To gain a Plenary Indulgence (only one per day), the faithful must be in the state of grace and the following conditions must accompany the prescribed act:
1. Have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin;
2. Receive the sacrament of confession
3. Receive the Holy Eucharist, and
4. Recite prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father (one Our Father and one Hail Mary is suggested as a minimum, but any other additional prayers may be added).

COLLECT
O God, glory of believers and life of the just, by the death and resurrection of your Son, we are redeemed: have mercy on your departed servants and make them worthy to share the joys of paradise, for they believed in the resurrection of the dead. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.

Ang gabing ito ay BANAL, para sa mga BANAL at para sa ating nagsusumikap ng mabuti para maging BANAL.
