THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION COLLEGE STUDENT COUNCIL, PUBLICATION, AND ALL ORGANIZATIONS FROM THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION.

As future educators, we have explored diversity as part of our coursework. Everyone has the right to be supported and embraced by the community; this is a fact that we have thoroughly explored. As we see how difficult it is for our LBTQIA+ community to obtain the basic rights for which they have fought so long, there is no doubt that our country and the rest of the world have a long road ahead before they recognize and hear their cry for equality.

They have been the target of prejudice and hatred for years. It is already disturbing how many people who identify as LGBTQIA+ are subjected to unjust treatment at work, are bullied at school, are harassed, and receive both physical and verbal abuse from other individuals. Because of this, the vast majority of members of the q***r community do not express or present their true selves while interacting with other people. Fear of discrimination based on who they are and whom they love has made coming out such a challenging task.

This June, we commemorate and respect the time that the LGBTQ community began to speak out against discrimination. Today, The School of Education stands in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ brothers and sisters in their battle for equal rights through the SOGIE Bill. The SOGIE Equality Bill's primary objective is to ensure that the rights outlined in the Constitution of 1987 are upheld and respected, notably the clause addressing equal protection. It acknowledges the LGBTQ+ community as equals and guarantees the protection of their rights to the same extent as everyone else's rights are guaranteed. In addition to that, the bill acknowledges the responsibilities that the Philippines should act upon in accordance with international law, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Therefore, it recognizes the duty to non-discrimination of LGBTQ+ people as both a domestic and an international obligation.

As we work to cultivate an environment that is welcoming to all, may we come to accept and love not only the students who will be joining us in the future, but also everyone else who has discovered the colors and identity that are uniquely theirs. We aspire that love will always serve as the foundation upon which we build acceptance and respect. There is no problem with deciding to be who you truly are, and there is certainly no problem with loving someone of the same gender as you. Both of these decisions are perfectly acceptable. Love is the tie that links each and every one of us together. Despite this, the LGBTQIA+ group is subject to a variety of forms of discrimination and constraints.

May it be our mission as aspiring educators to provide the kind of welcoming environment that our children, students, colleagues, and fellowmen seek, regardless of who they are. Let us provide the sanctuary that everyone else is looking for, and let our love permeate the entire community.

Before this day end, the inclusive education society wants to greet all the father out there a happy happy father’s day!

A Father’s Day Appreciation Post
Hey, pops! Appreciation for the unconditional support and love, from these younglings. Proud? Principled, however, and praiseworthy. You taught us to have strength on difficult times.
Father, daddy/dada, papa, tatay/tata, and to those who represents this amazing role, this day is yours. A lot of our father may hardly express any feelings, but we know. This is a father’s way, doing things his own way. How can we possibly argue that? Even we, are amazed. Rarely laughs, yet those jokes make us cracked. Savvy, corny, full of humor.
Deserving to be acknowledged, God gave us another great source of inspiration. Admiring you from near and afar, we learnt. You are one of the greatest persons in our life, my dearest father.
