Exploring the vast possibilities of rearranging Indigenous or Traditional music and telling the stories and struggles of the Indigenous Peoples throughout history, from the stories of the St. Louis Exposition of the Cordillera people to the destruction of ancestral lands of the Agta-Dumagat due to the construction of Kaliwa Dam, down to the festive beats of Visayan music, down to the celebration of life in Mindanao, is quite a challenge, especially in today's sensibility of the audiences. But it is a story worth telling because of the deeply rooted cultural values in every song.

This Friday, as a member of the Central Cluster of the Subcommission for Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts of NCCA and in line with National Indigenous Peoples Month, coinciding with the Dayaw: National Indigenous Peoples Festival organized by the aforementioned agency, the Kamighon Band presents Kabunayag: Ambahanon para sa Kagikan."

It was a truly marvelous opportunity for us to share the stage with the talented Kagayon Dance Troupe and our esteemed visiting Korean performing artist, courtesy of the Korea-Philippines Cultural Exchange Association. The Kamighon Band took pride in showcasing our rich historical roots through a vibrant repertoire that included Filipino folk songs like "Panganay ng Umaga" by Joey Ayala and "Babaylan" by Tony Palis.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who graced our performance with their presence.
