Do you want to know the distinct courtship, wedding, and burial practices of the Ata tribe? Their practices may be different from our current ones, but the values they attached to these practices are similar to ours. The only difference is that their values are uncompromisable and irrefutable, while ours are highly subjective and opinionated. Would you please watch another interesting video document produced by the BEEN2 English Majors and journey to the world of the Ata Tribe? Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride! Do you know the reason why our elders teach us to take off our clothes and turn them inside out and wear them again whenever we are lost? If we do this, then we can find our way out! Please watch another video created by the BDED 2 Elementary Majors on a tribal folktale about TAMBALOSLOS - a mythical creature who scares the Ata kids and stops them from going to forests alone. You will also learn from this video how Ata parents transmit life's moral lessons and values to their children through the power of storytelling. LAKBAY ATA is an initiative project by the USLS College of Education Council. It features the locals of the ATA Tribe in Bagong Silang, Don Salvador Benedicto. This project does not only promote awareness for the arts but also for citizenship education. Through educating the young minds of the students about Culture and Arts, we ignite their intellectual curiosity and we nurture their appreciation of arts. Many of you might ask, What have we accomplished so far? How did we give hope to the Tribe? Why are we advocating for the Ata? What do the Ata Tribe have that is worth recognizing? Let this video be the ANSWER. This is a critical advance towards guaranteeing that our voices are being heard, and our legacy is being perceived and inspired. #IPMonth #LakbayAtaProject
