I have asked several parents what they struggle the most with teaching their teens about money management.
Here are a few responses...
I wish there was an easy answer for al their concerns.
Each one is different.
Each one has their own choices to make.
Everyone's "money temperature" is different, meaning we all have unique ways of valuing things and deciding how to spend our money. For instance, my eldest daughter thinks spending more on her phone or personal items is okay, even if I consider it expensive. On the other hand, my second daughter prefers to spend most of her money on treats like candies and chocolates. It's all about personal preferences and what each person values most when it comes to their spending choices.
Knowing your teens' money temperature will help you guide them and create a plan.
The tricky part to this is separating your own money temperature from theirs.

My oldest didn’t have school today. Fridays are my sleep in days, and I love my sleep! But today, I chose to spend time with her. It was so much fun! We went for an hour walk, grabbed a treat from the gas station, and talked- my favorite part!❤️❤️❤️

Some days of parenting tweeen is difficult but it is also rewarding!

Today, I learned that she loves her one-on-one time.

Today, I learned that is listening.

Today, I learned she is doing her best.

Take time to listen to your kids. It is worth it. It doesn’t matter how short or long. They will remember how they felt, and that they’re heard.

Isn’t that what we all long for?

Good morning mamas!!! Today is going to be a great day!!!❤️

It is almost school time here in the US, at least where I’m at.

Do you feel the craziness and busy-ness???

On Saturday, my family and I went to the mall to buy school shoes for my two daughters. As soon as we walked in in one of the stores, I wanted to rush back out. There were people everywhere that you have to walk sideways to pass through an aisle. It was loud.

You can hear all the excitement from the kids and parents. You can also hear the frustration and agitation from some. There were some just sitting on a bench waiting and watching.

In this same circumstances, there were different attitudes. I am not saying one is right and the others are wrong.

It all comes down to the question, who do you want to be in that situation? What story do you want to tell?

Will your answers to these questions move you one step closer to the life you want? To the experience you want? To the memories you want to keep remembering?

Yes, you can’t control anyone or your surrounding but you can control who you want to be in that instance.

And when you want to be frustrated, annoyed, and disappointed, that is totally fine too. Allow yourself to feel it instead of beating up yourself and blaming others for what is happening.
