đ I'm so dissapointed na may mga ARTIST na ang tingin sa MINIMALIST ART ay minimal lang din, to the point that they think it doesn't deserve to win an Art Competition?
Like, paano ka ba nilamon ng Realism to the point that it gives you that ideal to belittle an artstyle? HOW?

I got more readers from the Pre-historical Philippines FB group compare to ALL of my art-related FB groups about my Mythology art. -makes me think that my art is for the people who also appreciate history, not just art.
About my recent post. I honestly don't want people to like my art and my art only. I also want to share our Pre-colonial Mythology so that more people would get an interest to our own culture.
We've been introduced to Greek Mythology and a lot of western myths yet we never have a glimpse of how beautiful our own Mythology is.
The art is just how i can see them and their world inside my head and this is the way i want to immortalize them in my memory. I mainly do art for myself and i am so very very thankful for the few people i personally know that supports me and to A LOT of people i just met online yet give me SO MUCH SUPPORT in this journey.. i am continuously sharing my art because of my few supporters so i am now also doing this for you, guys. Thank you!
But please, took time to read it.. i would appreciate it more if you fell in love with the story more than to my art. Really!
Thank you!
THE PHILIPPINE PRE-COLONIAL MYTHOLOGY
The Three Supreme Beings of Bukidnon
(Bukidnon, Mindanao Dieties)
đšī¸ Dadanhayan ha Sugay
"The lord from whom permission is asked"
đšī¸ Diwata na Magbabaya
"Pure God who wills all things"
đšī¸ Agtayabun
"Adviser" "Peace Maker"
(Chronological arrangement respective to photos below)
*Part 1: The Beginning
In the beginning, there was only "the banting"- a small circular space that was intensely bright and surrounded by rainbows.
In the Banting, there are three supreme beings, two of them faced each other named Dadanhayan ha Sugay (the good one) and Diwata na Magbabaya (the evil one).
These two beings that always bickering each other was held up by a third supreme being suspended above them named Agtayabun.
AGTAYABUN was a hawk-like-headed man that continuously flapping its wings in order to maintain the balance of the Banting because Diwata na Magbabaya and Dadanhayan ha Sugay were constantly bickering. He was only the one that could temper their head.
One day, Diwata na Magbabaya had an idea of enlarging the banting so that Agtayabun can rest his wings and his feet and also for them to have a place to walk. Diwata na Magbabaya knew that he would need the soil where Dadanhayan ha Sugay sat, the 10-headed being was hard to convince so Agtayabun swiftly scooped some soil under Dadanhayan ha Sugay. It drives him mad because the soil was taken without his permission. Diwata na Magbabaya then explained the purpose of the soil to create the earth. Eventually, the soil became very dry. Diwata na Magbabaya think of using Dadanhayan ha Sugay's sticky saliva to beautify the earth. Dadanhayan ha Sugay agreed to this, flattered to be part of the beautification.
There came the great rain that pours for many days. After which the three supreme beings saw the various shape had been created- river, mountains, valleys, ocean, grass and trees surrounded the earth, indeed it had became beautiful. The three supreme beings named the place "Haldan ta Paraiso" or Garden of Paradise.
*Part 2 - The Battle of Creation
Diwata na Magbabaya thought another idea of creating beings that can protect and watch over the earth. Two of the other beings agree to this. The three gathered the earth as flesh, water as blood, rattans as veins and arteries, woods from Andalagung tree to serve as the bones.
It was moistened by water but they noticed that it always crumble. The planner god then asked Dadanhayan ha Sugay to used his sticky saliva again to mold the figures which he immediately agreed.
Then the planner god asked Dadanhayan ha Sugay to create the figures in his image. The three being is happy with the result. They set it aside and the planner god tell to the two other beings to do nothing to the figures until he decided to what he can do to them, then fly away.
Diwata na Magbabaya looked down and saw that the six of the seven figures began to move. The planner god became mad and the fight begins between the two fighting for who contributed more to have the rights over the figures.
As usual, Agtayabun served as the judge. Since no one wants to give in, they agreed that there was to be a duel. The one who wins will have the rights over the figures.
The two gods begin the sword fights and going around the world. The flashing blades creates lightning and Agtayabun always declaire recess to check for their wounds but none of them have, even a scratch.
The fight continue. Everytime that their feet touches the ground, a loud thunderclap produced. They circled the world for seven times.
After the seventh round, they rested in Haldan ta Paraiso. The winged god check for their wounds but they remain unscathed. The swords and metals on their belts are all melted. These sank into the grounds and became the metal found under the earth.
*Part 3 - The Beauty of Stalement
Since they reached stalement, the good god decided to let the 6 figures to the 10-headed god and asked to work on the remaining one.
The six figures became the incantus or guardian spirits: The Talagbugta that look after the soil, The Ibabagsuk that take care of nature and grow plants, The Bulalakaw that guards the water and creatures in it. The Mamelig that watch over the forest, The Lalawig that watches over the bees and honeys and The Mamahandi that guards to the material wealth that men acquire.
This incantus have good and evil qualities. They expect respect through prayers and sacrifices. If they got offended, they make catastrophe. They want humans to respect their foods in their name.
The bits of clay that cuts off from the incantus became the other creatures of the world: those scooped from the armpits became birds and all flying creatures. Clay from the backs became the food carried from one's back, like deer and wild pice. The clay between fingers became water creatures and the clay from the crotch became the animals that one has to ride such as horses and carabows.
Diwata na Magbabaya focused on finishing the figure and endowed it with intelligence. This was the first human and the good god entrusted Haldan ta Paraiso to humans.
The 7 beings needs to maintain harmony and protect Haldan ta Paraiso and all of the creations living on it.
These is the story of the three Supreme Beings and the creation of the world from the beautiful pre-colonial mythology of Bukidnon, Mindanao Philippines.
*DISCLAIMER: photos below is an artistic interpretation of the artist from the above mentioned dieties. Any types of alteration is not intended, if there is any. The sole purpose of this is for an artistic representation to tell the story of our own pre-colonial mythology.

I FEEL SO ATTACKED!
"Libulan & Sidapa"
In the Modern Adaptation of the Philippine Mythology, LIBULAN is the God of the Moon and Patron God of Homos*xuality and SIDAPA is the God of Death.
After the night where Sidapa saves Libulan from being eaten by the Serpent-like Dragon named Bakunawa, it is believed that they still live on the top of Mt. Madjaas in Panay Province.
(See older post if you want to know more about their story.)
Their story is became so popular today that people think that this is really a part of the Pre-colonial Mythology of the Philippines, BUT there is NO any recorded or documented evidence that "Libulan" and the intimate relationship of him and Sidapa is really a part of the pre-colonial Myths of our country.
It is widely popularized and said to be that the origin is from "ORAL FOLKLORE" of the people from Visayas Region (Cebu, Panay, and Bicol Province).
â ī¸ DISCLAIMER: â ī¸
This artwork is just a representation of my interest towards their fictional love story. This is my way of feeding my GAY CONSCIOUSNESS of a visual representation of how the way i imagine it.
I did not intend to manipulate the REAL CONTEXTS of our Pre-Colonial Mythology, but instead, to actually inform the public about to what is to consider as a fact and what is not.
So yeah!
Finally, got that little inspiration to go back to my own series đ
This is a not so typical color palette i used đ (i know) but i really tried to atleast use lighter tones and avoid so much low saturation. I kinda get confused using them, actually đ
As you can see, there's a lot of flaws and i kinda like it the way it is so i never tried to fix it đ
Lately, I've been limiting the visuals of the backgrounds as i still struggle on executing my visions into visuals (artblocks) and i am really trying my best to atleast bring it back soon. I hope i can bring it back, soon.
Here are some of the DTIYS (Draw This In Your Style) i did from latest to the oldest one!
Since most of these DTIYS are from Instagram, i solely post it here on fb BUT i decided to do it now instead đ
*BTW i put all hashtags of all DTIYS (including the artists ID) in the caption per pic. You can check it on instagram.

"Matapos ang Seklusyon"
(After the Seclusion)
The inspiration for this piece is came from the movie "Seklusyon". (I really love this movie đ)
(Actual dialogue in the movie)
Miguel:
"Ano bang gusto mong mangyare, ilayo ko ang loob ko sa Diyos?"
Anghela Santa Ana:
"Hindi! Pagod na kaming makipaglaban ng harap-harapan sa diyos nyo. Gusto ko pa ring maging pari kayo at maging mabuting alagad ng diyos nyo, para dumami ang kampon ng panginoon ko sa loob ng simbahan. At darating ang araw na hindi nyo na malalaman kung sino ang peke at kung sino ang hindi!"
SYMBOLISM:
- He's naked to signifies that you will never know the whole truth unless you undress the lies.
- The black blood coming from his eyes and mouth are the same symbolism used in the movie also.
That is the sins and impurity. The devil's blood.
- The crown is resembling to the crown of thorns given to Jesus Christ. In this piece, i used the crown as the symbolism of his false prophecy. (Also the stigmata)
- The skull is the representation of death and his true identity.
- The paradise in the background are just to manipulate the people and to reverse the truth of his intention.

This artwork is just a creative representation of the artist about the said inspiration, with no intention of offending any religions, beliefs and/or anything in relation to that.

Dadanhayan ha Sugay - "lord from whom permission is asked" (Bukidnon, Philippines)
In Philippine Pre-colonial Mythology, specifically in Bukidnon Province (Central Mindanao), the universe begins in with a small circular space of immense brightness surrounded by rainbows called "Banting". During that time, there are only Three Supreme Beings who exist where Dadanhayan ha Sugay belongs.
He is described as a 10-headed drooling god with sticky saliva who always bickers the good god -Diwata na Magbabaya("pure god who wills all things") .
Since the 2 other supreme gods are always fighting each other, a cloacked hawk-headed god -Agtayabun ("adviser or Peace Maker"), is the arbitrer and the only one that can temper their head.
Dadanhayan ha Sugay's sticky saliva is the primary binder which leads to the creation of the earth that they called "Haldan ta Paraiso" (Garden of Paradise) and also to the creation of 7 beings where eventually become the 6 encantus created by him and the first human with a gift of intelligence coming from Diwata na Magbabaya.
The full story will be posted soon, among with the two illustrations of 2 other supreme gods.
This is one of the good stories from our own mythology that is worth sharing.

Sidapa - The God of Death (Antique Province, Philippines)
In Pre-Colonial Philippine Mythology, SIDAPA is the on who reaps the 'kalag' or souls of the dead and give it to Magwayen (Goddess of the Sea and Diety of Underworld) who brings the soul to Saad/Sulad (Heaven).
Also, he is responsible of the length of all individuals lifespan.
Everytime that there is a new born soul, he carved a notch in a huge tree that is located at the top of Mount Madiaas in Panay, where he also live.
In one of the modern adaptation of the fictional love story of Libulan and Sidapa,
Sidapa is the one who saved Libulan from being eaten by the Bakunawa
*story of Libulan is mentioned in the previous post (check it!)
Libulan - Diety of the Moon, Patron God of Homos*xuality
In some of the Modern Adaptation of the Philippine Mythology, Bulan is the moon diety that is saved by Sidapa (God of Death) from being eaten by the Bakunawa (a serpent-like dragon of natural calamity).
Bulan is said to be a "boy" who is the reincarnation of Libulan, the moon God of the Visayan Pantheon.
He is described as timid and shy with a distinct shine that attracts the God of Death- Sidapa.
On the other stories, Libulan/Bulan is one of the 7 moon dieties.
Every night, Sidapa used to watched them play and dance and eventually falls in love with them. Sidapa notice that the other gods were also in love with the moons (including the Bakunawa) so he did his very best to outshine them.
He use his power to court the moons. He commands the bird to sing his love and told the flowers to bloom all of their scents so that it can reaches the sky. He also use fireflies' light to create a path leading to him so that the moon dieties knows where he is.
Eventually, Bulan came down from heaven to meet Sidapa and Sidapa praises and shower the boy with gifts and everlasting love.
In the myth, It is believed that they still live a happy and prosperous life on the top of the Mount Madjaas in Panay where Sidapa use to live.
DISCLAIMER:
The following story about Libulan/Bulan as the Patron God of Homos*xuality is a Modern Adaptation of the Philippine Mythology. Stories mentioned above are fictionals and never been proven that it is belong to the Pre-colonial Mythology of our country.
It is widely popularized and said to be that the origin is from "oral folklore" coming from the people of Visayan region (Cebu, Bicol and Panay).
Nevertheless. We should still celebrate that the diversity of gender and s*xual orientation is widely express and it reaches our Philippine Mythology.
BUT we should also be aware of what is to considered as FACT and which is NOT.
We should also protect our PRE-COLONIAL MYTHOLOGY by clarification of what is really belong to it, the same way of how we protect our people from inequality and injustice.
Meet my "Balaan"
Your a "not-so-typical" Handsome Manananggal!
In Philippine Mythology, Manananggal are a creature that separates their body in half when its time to haunt.
Usually they were in a form of a woman. They prey a pregnant mother and eat the heart of their fetuses.
Manananggal is came from a tagalog word "tanggal" which means is "to remove" or "to separate" and it literally translated as "the remover" or "the separator".
BUT Balaan is different from the typical manananggal. He is a fallen Seraph of heaven, that also explains why he has 6-batlike wings.
His ability is to sense the sins of humans and that is what he prey. The heavier the sins, the tastier his dinner will be.
When he's in human form, his charm also attracts women and men. He sometimes eat them after having s*x with it. Suck all bloods and eat their heart. He sometimes collects the hearts of his favorate sinners and put it in a jar.
His name is came from his way of haunting.
He look at the sinner's eye and he shapeshift his face into his demonic look as a warning sign or "Babala" (tagalog word). He give enough time to his prey to run for his life even though it doesn't have any sense at all. "Balaan" is literally means "to give warning".
And that is Balaan, ladies and gents.
What do you think of Balaan?
Scary? Or hot?
I'll be posting here my Philippine Mythology series that i've been doing recently together with their stories.
It includes Gods/Dieties and folklore.
Joining the bandwagon! â¤
