Electricity rates are higher this April by Php 0.54/kWh due to higher WESM charges, rise in fuel prices, and peso depreciation. This brings the total electricity rate for typical households to Php 10.18/kWh.

This is equivalent to an additional of Php 107 for households that typically consume 200kWh monthly.

Despite the increase, it's still lower by Php 0.38/kWh compared to the rate of April 2019.

Rates would have been higher if not for the distribution rate refund approved by ERC and Meralco's continuous coordination with energy suppliers.

This March, electricity rates of typical residential customers will slightly increase by PhP0.06/kWh mainly due to higher generation charge.

For households that typically consume 200 kWh/month, this is equivalent to an additional Php13 on their bill.

Rates would have been higher if not for the additional distribution rate true-up refund, as provisionally-approved by the ERC, and Meralco’s coordination with energy suppliers.

Expect lower rates by Php 0.12/kWh this February due to lower generation charge. This is equivalent to a total savings of Php 24 for homes consuming 200kWh per month!
