Happy 23rd Birthday, little one. 💙

If I could only talk to my younger self, I would tell her that at 23, she will have her heart broken, her life and own family to fall apart, she will be betrayed, lied to, and left all alone by those people whom she loved and trusted the most, she will have her dreams to take a massive re-route, and she will start to create a life of her own.

Frankly, this year had tore me down into millions of pieces. I thought I would not even make it on the 3rd week of January, for I have dealt an intense pain that no child should ever experience.

I could not count how many times I cried at night and bravely showed up the next day after. God knows how much I wanted to give up but He kept on sending people over to help me extend my will to live.

Thank you to the few people who stayed with me throughout this dark season of my life. To the few people that treated me like their own family, colleagues that mentored me, few friends who remained available and are one call away for me. To my favorite person who patiently waited for me to get better, to the few family that kept their doors open, and to my brother who became my strong foundation to keep going.

Tomorrow is uncertain, but I’ll show up.

So shout out to my younger self. You will figure it out, just like you always do. 💙

Oh well. Never been easy to live independently and juggle three jobs + tons of responsibilities, but I made a promise to myself that whenever I accomplish something, may it be big or small, it deserves to be celebrated. Till next time! 💙
