2024 SAFS Election: The Candidates Are Coming!

With great pleasure, colleagues, I present the final slate of candidates for the SAFS Election 24–25, which was determined through a rigorous process that began on Friday, August 30. The people listed below, who are all well-known for their strong qualifications and reliable platforms, have been given "ballot access":

SAFS Members, get ready for an AMAZING week! A challenging week begins on Monday, September 2, and ends on election day. During this time, we can all witness our candidates' compassionate leadership and collaborative abilities firsthand. The window is open from Monday, September 2, 2024, to Tuesday, September 3, 2024, when it closes. Ahead of the big day, prepare!

This election will determine the direction of SAFS for many years, so it's not just about choosing leaders. We must all participate—responsibly and proactively—to prevent the worst from controlling our future. Your vote will count, and your voice matters!

All Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry students are encouraged to join the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 (𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐒). 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼, 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀’ 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆'𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗿, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗖𝗢'𝘀 𝗞𝘂𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

Students' Agroforestry Society, an accredited organization of Caraga State University, was invited to join League Campus Organization's “Kulbahinam 2024: LCO’s Leadership Training, Team Building Activity, and Organization Re-accreditation,” that was held at Hiraya Auditorium and Kinaadman Hall grounds last January 26 -27.

Ms. Marjorie Felecio, SAFS's treasurer, is the face of the organization for the two-day event as a proxy of the org's president, Mr. Rheynan Merca.

Kulbahinam 2024, which means “momentous” in english, is an event for CSU's org leaders to adapt and be ready for change with the theme “Conquering Development: Leadership Through Change”.

The event commenced at Hiraya Auditorium with the speakers: LCO adviser, Prof. Anna Maria Belinda R. Yting, guest speaker and former student of CSU, Mr. Marcelino Bernados Jr., RSW., and concluded by the event chairperson, Mr. Luijay Montecillo.

After dinner break, the second part of the event inaugurated at Kinaadman Hall grounds, wherein the org leaders began to collaborate with each other. Activities like treasure hunting, a game called “Protect my flame”, and bonfire camping were initiated under the moonlight.

On the next day, the team building continued as the participants played Maria Went to Town, Naruto Run Relay, Kadang-Kadang, and Cup Pyramid.

The event ended as the accredited organizations had its re-accreditation and the LCO president, Mr. Anthony Laurence Cubio, thanked the sponsors and attendees of the event.

Was it a get-together of old friends or a mass assembly? Agroforesters, that was such a novel and memorable gathering!

January 24 at exactly 9:30 AM, the first general assembly of the Students' Agroforestry Society (SAFS) was opened by the program's emcee, Ms. Cherry Jane Peñas, our sophomore representative. Oath-taking of the officers and swearing of the pledge of commitment of the members took place first. Following their brief remarks to the audience, Mr. Rodel Passion and Ms. Jessan Desalago, the organization's advisers, appeared to be well-liked by the BSAF students, as seen by the enthusiastic clapping and cheers directed towards the two enthusiastic advisers. The assembly discussed the CBL amendments, future activities of the organization, organizational fees, and the proposed designs of T-shirts and ID lanyards exclusive to SAFS members only (voting for the primary designs will be announced soon).

The faculty of the Students' Agroforestry Society is thankful for all the attendees who made time and listened to the assembly. Everyone's presence is heartily appreciated. See you next time, agroforesters!

As for the agenda, be part of the oath-taking ceremony that will symbolize our connection as being in one organization, keep your ears up as we orient about our organization precisely, expect transparency as we share the accomplishments and liquidation reports from 2022 to 2023, be aware and knowledgeable of our organization's CBL amendments, and other matters that will be discussed this wednesday. Students in Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry who want to join the organization will also be able to sign their membership form!

This is your chance to share suggestions and ask questions about our program because your insights matter the most. Note that the creation of Students' Agroforestry Society is for the goodness of its own members.
