2000km’s later… Hello Visayas!

The final journey with my scooter Jeprox continues. It is time to head north. I drove from Cateel to Surigao City and left Mindanao on a boat to Cebu. I have to say, arriving in the port at 3:30am was actually quite magical. The city was sleeping, and I was wide awake and full of inspiration.

Mindanao, I am so grateful for the past three weeks and 2000km’s we shared. You keep proving me right... beauty, happiness, inspiration... that is what is in the majority. But hey, that is also what is in the majority all around the Philippines. And I am grateful to be on the ground experiencing, and sharing it with all of you.

It may have been early, and I may have been tired...

But wow am I ever energized!

Cokaliong Shipping Lines has recently acquired its 15th RORO-Passenger Ferry from Japan which will be named as the M/V Filipinas Ubay - in its effort to serve more passengers and expand to new routes.

She was the former SETO II of Shikoku Kisen Co Ltd. of Japan. She is a 2003-built vessel (19 years old). The vessel has an overall length of 65 meters and her width is 16 meters. During her days in Japan, she has a cruising speed of 14 knots.

The vessel left Ishigaki, Japan last November 10 2022 on its way to embark on a long voyage towards her new home in Cebu, Philippines. She arrived today, November 15 2022 and has safely docked in the Cebu Pier 1 area.

After her arrival here in Cebu, she will be refitted with Cokaliong standards. Once completed, she will soon serve the Cebu-Ubay and v.v. route

Mr. Chester Cokaliong owner of Cokaliong Shipping Lines confirmed to Ubay Mayor Costan Reyes that Cokaliong will soon operate its Ubay-Cebu route.

The said vessel will be a RORO & Passenger type and will traverse Ubay-Cebu 2x daily.
