NEW YEAR, NEW LIFE

Do not waste any moment turning away from God.
New Life brings Salvation

God will renew things:
New Mind, New Heart, New Spirit = New Life

• John 3:3
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

New Birth- spiritual rebirth
Regeneration- recreating new life. When God makes a person spiritually alive, as a result of his faith in Jesus Christ.God imparts a life and imparts it in the believer's heart. Without the new birth, no one can see the Kingdom of God.

1. WHEN THERE IS REPENTANCE, YOU WILL BE A CHILD OF GOD

• Ephesians 2:1-5
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

There are 2 kinds of Repentance:
- Turn Back
- Look Forward

2. HAVE A NEW LIFE

• Ephesians 4:23‭-‬24
to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

3. DO NOT CONFORM WITH THIS WORLD

• Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

4. BE LIKE GOD

• Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Nobody is perfect, as we all have sinned, but by accepting God and receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we can repent and be forgiven, and God will give us a New Life.

• 2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

HOW CAN GOD DO A NEW THING TODAY?

• GOD IS DOING A NEW THING INSIDE OF YOU

- Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Our Worship is offering ourselves holy and pleasing to God. Change our ways and our way of thinking.

The devil does not hold our minds but can instill negative thoughts that can pull us away from God.

Our minds can not be fully controlled by us, God is the only one who can change it, that is why we need His guidance.

It is the start of our change when we start to read the bible and pray everyday.

- 1 Corinthians 2:16
for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

We have the mind of Christ. The word of God is the will of God.

1. HE IS CHANGING OUR MIND
Know His will, know His purpose

- Ezekiel 36:26-27
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

2. HE WILL GIVE US A NEW HEART AND SPIRIT

Choosing the right words to communicate and your approach with others can make a big difference.

- 2 Corinthians 3:18

We are changed when God died in the cross for us, it has been given to us but because of the devil's lies we are tricked to think that we are still sinners and continuously get drawn to sin.

- Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Be careful of what we do and what we put our minds into.

• GOD IS DOING A NEW THING THROUGH YOU

- John 14:2
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

Whoever believes in me will do even greater things than these.
Performing miracles, signs and wonders.

- Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

STAND FIRM by: Ptr. Buddy Malapad

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV

When we have faith, God will help us have self control towards our decisions and stand firm to what we know is right.

• 1 Corinthians 1:8 NIV
He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1. STAND FIRM
Always give yourself fully to God. Be strong and faithful.

• Romans 8:31-39
vs. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

When we have trials in our lives, just keep moving.

2. LET NOTHING MOVE YOU

Temptations can be faced through out our entire day, it can pull us away from God. This can harm us and lose our morals in the process.
God wants us to Stand Firm in our faith in order to avoid any form of temptations.

• 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

3. ALWAYS ABOUND INTO THE WORK OF THE LORD

We need to be convinced that we are for God. Serve with a desire in your heart, our labor will not be in vain.
Remain confident in our faith because inspite of our short comings we long to be saved by the grace of God.

• Matthew 25:26
“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

Do not keep our talents for ourselves, use our God given talent for His glory. Invest in your talents, we reap what we sow.

• Matthew 25:30 NIV
And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Being lazy and not using our talents and capabilities into good use may have consequences.

☆ HOW TO MAINTAIN AND DEVOTE IN HIS CALLING:

* LABOR IN LOVE

• Hebrews 6:10
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Always give ourselves fully with the love of the Lord.
When we minister, minister to one another.

* LABOR OF GIVING

• Ephesians 4:28
Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

Share to anyone in need and extend in giving to God's house. It is an essential part of our labor as those blessing came from God, we must give back to Him.
When we ask God for something, it will be given at the right time.

* LABOR OF SERVICE

Each one is given a gift, minister it to others as a labor of service to Him.

• Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

* LABOR OF PRAYER

Praying may not be done easily. We can pray continually all throughout our day. Prayer is a way of communicating and establishing a relationship with God.

• Colossians 4:12
Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.

We have to labor in prayer, be persistent in praying for one another.

Pray continually, not annually.

• Matthew 6:9-10
“This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Always remember He is always contending for you in prayers.

• 1 Corinthians 15:15
More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.

OUR LABOR IS NOT IN VAIN.

WITH CHRIST IN THE HOME by Ptr. Conrad Valencia

Our real Home is in the Presence of God.

Many homes are unhappy, because they do not have Christ in their home.
People are never contented with what they have, they have no satisfaction. We may have everything and all the riches of this world, but still have no joy.

1. HOME is a place for Living

Many people's homes without Christ would just go home just to eat and sleep; they would enjoy other people's company rather than their families.

With Christ in the Home, we would be filled with love.
Some families long to loose everything just to have a family that is complete and love one another.
Christian homes are not a place for mere existence; they afford communication.

2. HOME is a place of Liberty

A place where it's not too restricting, nor so free willed.
Marriage is about partnership, and not ownership.

• Ephesians 5:23
For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

May our service at home be filled with love. Christ breaks resentments, hatred and anger that ruins our love for family.

• John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

3. HOME is a place for Lifting

Do not make our family members feel down. We must recognize each one's part in our home as everyone needs support and appreciation. Do not be self-centered and selfish.
Honor our Father and Mother.

• 2 Corinthians 1:4
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

God lets us experience His goodness, so that we can use it for others. Let us help one another; each member should give a helping hand and uplift each one.

• Hebrews 6:10
God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.

4. HOME is a place of Love

• 1 John 4:7
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Love is the key to everything.
Home is a place to restore Love. We must make Christ the center of our homes as rage and anger ruins Love.

THE STORY OF ABEL & CAIN by: Ptra. Buena Aguilan

• Genesis 4:1-16

vs. 4-5
And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

Why did God accepted Abel's offering while He didn't accept Cain's?

Abel gave his best offering while Cain only gave a portion of his. When we offer to God, we must always give our best.
Our emotions can be manifested in our faces, and Cain has an attitude problem. Do not react irrationally to things quickly, as this can put us and others in danger.

A Quality Offering is given with a heart that is for God.
When we surrender our lives to God, our life is no longer ours, so we must always do our best.

• Romans 12:1‭-‬2

True Worship is offering ourselves holy and pleasing to God.

HOW TO BE A BLESSING:

1. OFFER SOULS TO GOD

As God desires that we offer our lives to Him, we are accountable to every soul we encounter.

• Genesis 4:12
When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

2. GIVE OUR FIRST FRUIT TO THE LORD

When we give our first fruit to God, we can guarantee a prosperous life with overflowing blessings.
Many are tithers but are not giving their best offering. The reason why God did not accept Cain's offering is because he only gave a portion of it.

Our best offering is something that we cherish. Things that are hard to surrender.

When we want to give our very best to the Lord, it requires sacrifice. God also sees our faith through our offering.

IF WE HAVE FAITH AS SMALL AS A MUSTARD SEED, WE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS.

3. LIVE WITH SINCERITY

Do not feel like we have not done enough for God, because God looks at the heart. We always reserve things for ourselves that continually pull us away and keep us from giving our best to God.

When we refuse to obey God's commands and give our all, we often become arrogant towards Him.

• Genesis 4:15-16
But the Lord said to him, “Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

God is a God of second chances. When we realize that we have done something wrong, we must humble ourselves and repent.

Whatever shortcomings we have with God, He will still forgive us. So when we give to the Lord, ALWAYS GIVE OUR BEST.

WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS by: Ptr. Buddy Malapad

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:31‭-‬39 NIV

We can overcome any circumstances.
We have many battles to win, but Christ has won our battle two thousand years ago.We can overcome anything that does not line up with the truth, may it be our fears, doubts, anxiety or depression.

• 2 Corinthians 5:17

TO LIVE LIKE CONQUERORS:

• John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
1. WATCH YOUR FOCUS
-We empower negativity, if we focus on selfish and carnal things we empower our worldly nature.
Focusing on negative things and difficult situations does not help solve the issue, this can cause negativity thru out our day.

• Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Focus on things that give us hope and light through our dark situations in life.

2. LET HEAVEN FILL YOUR THOUGHTS
• Colossians 3:1-2
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Set your sight at the reality of heaven not on worldly things.

3. THINK LIKE A VICTOR AND NOT A VICTIM
-In the midst of challenges stop thinking victimized thoughts like you are always being attacked.
Always remember that we can overcome anything if we have God by our side, for we are Victorious.
Do not focus on the problems that will stop you from rising up and disabling ourselves from it.
Exchange Victim Identity to Overcomers Identity.

4. MAKE UP OUR MINDS
-The Battle ground is in our minds. We can solve and stop problems and circumstances; so don't let those things disable us and keep us from overcoming, make up our mind just like Daniel.

• Daniel 1:8
But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
5. ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO RENOVATE OUR MIND
-Do not let our mind be filled with negative and self defeating thoughts. We usaually tend to murmur and complain but we can change that.

• Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

LET GO AND LET GOD!

• Romans 12:1-2
