We are pleased to inform you that the DepEd Order No. 034, s. 2022, entitled "School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2023-2024," issued on 11 July 2022 by the Vice President and Secretary of Education, the Honorable Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio, has brought a breath of fresh air to students, parents, and teachers eagerly awaiting the resumption of face-to-face classes.
Furthermore, we are excited to announce that MTG Philippines is fully prepared to conduct the ONSITE Mathematical Challenge for Filipino Kids Training Program (MCFKTP), commonly known as the "12-Saturday Training Program," in various MTG Training Centers nationwide.
We have great news for everyone: there will be NO QUALIFYING EXAMINATION for those interested in participating in this year's MCFKTP. The program is OPEN to all students from grades 1 to 12.
A registration fee of seven thousand pesos only (Php 7,000.00) will be charged to each participant to cover the expenses illustrated below.
a. Registration fees for the 3 international correspondence mathematics competitions:
i. Either one of the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8, 10 or 12. (winners get a Certificate of HD & D)
ii. International Living Math Olympiad (a student who meets a cut of score gets a winner pin)
iii. New Century Hope Cup Math Invitational Competition (Gold, silver & bronze medals for the winners)
b. One (1) MTG T-shirt, training materials and certificates for the participants.
c. Air freight, honorarium for the facilitators which will cover the entire 12-Saturday sessions, honorarium for the guards, janitors, encoders, and center coordinator, and a token of appreciation for the host school.
Good News: Those who register on or before August 15, 2023, will receive a 10% discount and will only have to pay
Php 6,300.00. However, if you pay after August 15, 2023, the regular price of Php7,000.00 will
be charged. The deadline for registration is September 8, 2023.

The DepEd Order No. 034, S. 2022 entitled, School Calendar and Activities for School year 2022-2023, issued on 11 July 2022 by the Vice President and Secretary of Education, the Honorable Sara Z. Duterte – Carpio, is a breath of fresh air for students, parents, and teachers who have been looking forward for the face-to-face classes.
As regards, the MTG Philippines is more than ready to conduct the Mathematical Challenge for Filipino Kids Training Program (MCFKTP) or commonly known as the, “12-Saturday Training Program”.
This time, the registration to the MCFKTP has the following new features:
a) The trainees have the registration options to choose from any of the following payment schemes:
i. One-Time Payment Scheme – Php5,000.00 – entitles the trainees to full 12 training sessions with a discount of Php1,000.00.
ii. 3-Installment Payment Scheme – Php2,000.00 – entitles the trainees to attend 4 training sessions, which is equivalent to one phase. The trainees pay Php2000 per phase when they re-register in the succeeding phases to complete the 12 training sessions.
• In case a trainee misses to register in the previous phase, he/she is allowed to enroll in the next phase, provided he/she passes, first the written examination and second, pays the registration fee of the previous phase in the amount of Php3000 per missed phase to access the training sessions. The trainee can obtain the lessons of the previous lessons.
b) Training Delivery Mode:
• 1st Phase: 4 Training Sessions – Full Distance Learning (Online Class)
1st Session September 10, 2022
2nd Session September 24, 2022
3rd Session October 8, 2022
4th Session October 29, 2022
• 2nd and 3rd Phases: 8 Training Sessions – In-Person Training Class (Subject to School Regulation and DepEd, IATF Guidelines and Restrictions in the LGU)
• Full Online Class for all sessions is available for those who prefer the Distance Learning|
c) Free Online Qualifying Examination (QE) shall be administered to the first-timer MTG trainee, scheduled anytime on August 3 – 27, 2022. Interested participants can email us with the subject header, “MTG First Timer” to get more details of the QE.

Pinoy math wizards head toward the IMAS finals
About seventy-five whiz kids from all over the Philippines will participate in the second round of the 11th International Mathematics and Assessments for Schools (IMAS) which will be held online in July this year.
Advancing into the final round are those participants who obtained a score above the 95 percentile and who will receive the High Distinction certificates. This year, there are 10 qualifiers from the middle primary division (grades 3 &4), 16 from the upper primary division (grades 5 & 6), and 49 from the junior division (grades 7 to 10). These 75 students are the only qualifiers for the 2nd round of IMAS 2022.
Furthermore, the Philippines also garnered a total of 97 distinction certificates and 306 credit certificates.

74 Filipino students qualify in the 2nd Round of the Russian Math Olympiad
Seventy-four Filipino students are still in the race for the Round 2 of the 2022 Russian International Mathematics Competition which will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
According to the organizer, the Russian School of Mathematics, Round 2 is a 75-minute and 12-question test based on leading math curricula across the world. It is a challenging test in the tradition of European Mathematical Olympiads with complex problems that promote a deeper level of thinking for even the most advanced students.
The qualifiers for Round 2 are those students who successfully completed Round 1, and who receive an invitation to participate in IMC round 2 via email.
Since this year’s second round is still online, then the IMC Round 2 can be taken only on desktop computers, laptops, and tablets.
The results of the International Math Contest Round 2 will be based on percentile and students will be awarded certificates and Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals accordingly.

Five Filipino students win gold awards in WMTC
Another Filipino mathletes made their nation proud as they walked away with gold medals in the 12th World Mathematics Team Championship Global Edition held online on February 19, 2022.
The Philippines also notched up 16 silver, 26 bronze, and 17 merit awards – the achievement level that makes their countrymen feel prouder and shine brighter amidst the challenges of time.

PH tops in medal counts in 2021 IMOYA
The Filipino numbers aces took home a total of 111 awards - including twenty-eight golds in the 2021 International Mathematics Open for Young Achievers (IMOYA), held online last December 18, 2021.
The 172-member Philippine math team also bagged 32 silver and 51 bronze medals in the 10-nation annual contest.
The Philippines topped in medal counts over the host country, Thailand, which garnered 18 gold, 27 silver, and 47 bronze awards.

PH wins scores of awards in 2021 IMWiC
With a 174-award haul, including 11 golds, the Philippines has proven anew as one of Asia’s mathematics powerhouses in the 2021 International Mathematics Wizards Challenge (IMWiC), which was conducted online by the Indonesian organizer on October 23, 2021.
The young Filipino numbers aces, who came from both public and private primary and secondary schools nationwide, also tallied 39 silver, 86 bronze, and 38 merit awards in the 7-nation contest which includes China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Filipino mathletes wind up SYA math contest with 165 awards
The Philippines makes another remarkable feat, bagging 17 gold, 47 silver, 63 bronze, and 38 merit awards in the SYA Friendship International Mathematics Competition held online on July 31, 2021.
Showing their up-to-the-mark performance in the individual contest are the 17 gold awardees whose unabated zeal and excellence transfer over in the competition.
The SYAFIMC organizers were impressed at how the Filipino mathletes fare in the competition. In their email, they said, “Your students exhibited an excellent performance, which obviously reflects how nurture and nature have made them outstanding in this year’s contest. The Philippine result has become a yardstick of what quality is all about.”

PH captures 31 awards in 2021 IMAS
Our Filipino math wizards have added another award to their resumes for winning medals in the second round of the 10th International Mathematics Assessments for Schools (IMAS) conducted virtually.
The IMAS contest problem styles, which foster creativity, working memory, grit and lateral thinking enabled the 31 math wizards from the Philippines to win 11 gold, 3 silver, and 17 bronze awards in the middle primary, upper primary and junior divisions.
The competition drew thousands of participants from 15 countries such as powerhouse China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Kazakhstan to name a few.

2021 Pan Asia Pacific International Mathematics Invitation Competition
It’s another victory for the Filipino mathletes for winning out a total of 76 medals and awards in the Pan-Asia Pacific (PAP) International Mathematics Invitation Competition, which was held on July 17, 2021.
This online math contest, organized by the Hong Kong Gifted Education Association and Macao Mathematics Education Study Association was an individual competition composed of 12 questions requiring short solutions answered in 60 minutes.

PH MATHLETES ROCK THE BALKAN STATES WITH 4 MEDALS

Four Filipino mathletes toughed it out, this time, walking away with 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medals from the recently concluded 25th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO) hosted and organized online by The Mathematical Society of the Republic of Moldova on July 1, 2021.
Highlighting the best version of himself is Mohammad Nur Casib - Grade 8 - Philippine Science High School - Central Mindanao Campus for etching his name as the only Asian to get his hands on the coveted gold medal. It is the country’s second since Andres Rico Gonzales III won it in 2016.
The MTG Philippines will reward Mohammad Nur Casib with Php10,000.00 for his exceptional performance, Php5000.00 for each silver medalist and Ph3000.00 for the bronze medalist.
The JBMO drew participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey; and guest teams from Azerbaijan, Croatia, France, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
