Allow me to thank all those who greeted me a happy birthday through a poem.

It's been a tough year but I've realized that tough times make days even worth living.
It's been challenging dear but I've realized that our hugs and kisses have earned more meaning.

Yes, everyone's wondering when all these waves are going to end.
But no one's asked the million-dollar question, are these times meant to ever end?
Yes, anyone's thinking when will we have the old-fashioned kind of rest.
But no one's thought the unpopular idea, are these times ever meant to mend?
Yes, one can't stop pondering as to when will this heavy burden leave our chest.
But no one's brought it out, could these times be meant to push us further towards our best?

Become more of our better selves?

I believe the time has come that we are all allowed to put a deeper meaning to every opportunity to make someone feel significant.

I believe the time has come that we are all encouraged to take even just a second longer to listen with our heart rather than complain or rant.

We're all hoping for a better world. But isn't the capacity of making the world better already in our hands?

In this coming Father’s day. Since there are many fathers who are really going day in and day out as frontliners or breadwinners in this challenging time. And as my father has already done his part in this world, I think this is a great way to honor the memory of my father and those fathers who have already gone ahead of us.

I am asking for your help in nominating those fathers whom you think need a break. Or really need help financially or food supplies wise.

Please be informed that I have pushed the pause button in sending out love due to the situation that is the local transmission.

My proposal is to help the individuals in the Macanhan area, COVID area specific since they are currently on ECQ.

Good evening volunteers!

I would like to give update in the status of our humble initiative. I would like to apologize for not being able to inform you in advance but I have hit the PAUSE button on this initiative since there was a Covid positive patient in Zayas area. I visited the area recently but I could not risk communing with the residents.

One reason is that I have a family member who is high risk to infection.

While another is that I am reassessing how we may approach the situation given that we may have a continual local transmission.

I understand that the need to help is even stronger given the situation but I am thinking of smarter ways to go about this. Rest assured, our funds raise are intact and there are volunteers who continually contribute.

She is aged 65, a single mom, an ALS teacher since 2005, she had been receiving 2,500 honorarium back then but unfortunately, it was stopped when she became a senior citizen. Right now, she eats from whatever fresh vegetables that she harvest from her own garden. She is expecting 2k pesos of Pension every month but she can’t withdraw due to Enhanced Community Quarantine.

She lives in the Learning center as her home was destroyed by the past typhoons with only one kidney since 1982, she fights cancer and continues to volunteer as an ALS Instructor.

I met this very kind champion volunteer back when I was a Jesuit volunteer assigned to a remote area to teach.

I am very hopeful to send her some of our love.

May I ask permission to have her supported with 500 pesos per week?

a. A 61 year old patient whose results have just been recently confirmed as Covid positive as announced.

b. Strict measures being done to contain the spread within the Camaman-an area. As per some residents, they are no longer allowed to go to work.

We are inclined to prioritise providing support in their area.

I would like to ask for your support on this matter. If you are amenable to this, please comment YES. If not, you may please comment NO. I would understand. Please be informed that everyone has a say on this initiative. However, we would like to create a committee within the volunteer community to allow representations per vicinity within Cagayan de Oro City.

Praise God for His miracle of multiplying the 5 loaves and 2 fishes in the feeding of the 5000 thousand as recorded in Scripture in Matthew 14: 13-21.

Let’s thank the Lord for making us His channels.

Currently, we have raised the amount of 3276.31.

As of today from 10 benefactors

Back when I was still a little boy, I saw a friend of mine eating rice. He was a laborer - kargador sa bugas. I noticed that he was eating white rice. I looked closer and asked. "Unsa imong sud-an kuya?"

He replied with a smile that still flashes in my mind. "Asin-asin sa ta ani."

I could not believe it. It was the first time that I knew that people ate rice paired with salt.

This experience taught me how important food is. Later on, I learned that they were actually paid a meager 50 centavos per sack unloaded from the truck into the storage of the store.

We now have raised a total of 1816 pesos.

With two new pledges. A total of 8 Pledges now.

And we're looking to have two more pledges within the week.
