Congratulations! Cagayan de Oro City under the leadership of City Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy for being awarded as the 'Top 6 Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City' in the overall ranking of the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

CMCI has five main pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation. Cagayan de Oro was recognized as the 'Most Resilient City' in the entire country after gaining the No. 1 overall ranking in the resiliency pillar.

In the field of economic dynamism, the ranking of Cagayan de Oro reached the ninth place, while it is seventh in the two pillars - the infrastructure and government efficiency, and Top 6 in the innovation pillar.

Cagayan de Oro also won the 'Top 7 Most Improved Highly Urbanized City' this year.

This year's ranking is one rank higher as compared last year wherein Cagayan de Oro City placed Top 7 in the overall ranking.
