PROSPERITY GOSPEL IS ABUSE

Because prosperity preachers promise you things that God never promises to give you. It puts you in a place of false hope and makes you set up false expectations that God will never meet... because God never promised to meet them.

And that's why no matter how much you give, you never get what they promise.

The prosperity "gospel" preachers are some of the most disgusting so-called Christians out there. Their primary target is the poor and the uneducated. They take advantage of them and manipulate them until they have nothing.

That is the definition of abuse.

And do you know what God says about those who abuse the poor?

"Do not rob the poor, because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate, for the Lord will plead their cause and rob of life those who rob them." (Proverbs 22:22-23)

Here is the truth: your best life is NOT now. Giving all your money to a prosperity preacher because he promises that you will have your best life now if you do will only hurt you in the end.

Your best life is not now; your best life awaits you in the new heaven and new earth, with Jesus Christ as your Good King (Revelation 21:1-4).

Theologian and author Randy Alcorn says it like this,

"The best of life on Earth is a glimpse of Heaven; the worst of life is a glimpse of Hell. For Christians, this present life is the closest they will come to Hell." (Heaven, p.52)

God promises you the best life you could ever have, but it won't be in this world that is stained with sin and evil.

It will be in His Kingdom, as His child, under His good leadership.

THAT is your best life.

Don't let prosperity preachers deceive you and abuse you.

Root yourself in Scripture.
Speak out against them.
Stand up to them.

Christ doesn't promise us that we'll never face the storms. But He has promised us that whenever we'll face trials and storms, He will be with us. When He is our rock and foundation, we can endure and smile through the storm. ✨

STOP DOING THIS

The problem with us Christians today is that we have reduced the Bible to pithy phrases that make us feel better about ourselves.

We tend to brush aside what is true for what we want to believe is true.

We treat the Word of God as if it is an all-you-can-eat pick-and-choose buffet; we eat what we like and stay away from what we don't like. We feel free to pluck any verse out of its context to make it say and mean whatever we want it to say and mean.
..and then our favorite verses fail us, and we wonder why...

We often don't read the Bible, let alone study it. We simply use parts of it when they make us feel good.

Verses in the Bible cannot be properly understood without their context(s).
Context(s) cannot be properly discovered without digging into the text.
Digging into the text cannot properly happen unless you study.

We must fight to stop using pithy phrases and pitiful proof-texts.

Instead, let's focus on what God is really trying to speak to us through STUDYING the whole counsel of His Word in context (not just *reading* it), just as He intended.

I may have posted about this before but this is what I always remind myself and what I love reminding other people of my age.

It's a good thing that we're doing our best to make use of the gifts that God has blessed us with, and it's great to be working hard to achieve a certain dream or goal.

But I always remind myself that in chasing those dreams, it could easily become an idol in a way that all my energy and my time would only be dedicated to it.

So whenever I feel like I'm being "too busy" that I don't even get to spend time with God, I always remind myself of what truly matters and what I really need -- God Himself.

We should balance it out and be clear with our priority. In the end, it is God who provides for all our needs, and it is Him who will work out His purpose in our lives.

Let's not also forget that we are to be clay in our Potter's hands. No matter what we're trying to achieve, when He calls us to a different direction, let's be available in answering Him "Yes, Lord!"

Because really, it is God, above all, that we should be pursuing. And pleasing Him should be the desire of our hearts.

DEAR WORSHIP LEADERS,

Here are few tips for you. :)

👉1. MEMORIZE THE LYRICS AHEAD OF TIME.

Make sure napakinggan mo na sa buong linggo bago ka sumalang sa practice.

If alam mo ang key mo, communicate sa instrumentalists ahead of time if original key ang gagamitin mo or gusto mong babaan kasi medyo mataas para sayo.

Alamin mo din ang background ng song and if this is related to your pastor's preaching para mas madaling ma-emphasize ang word for that day.

Also, check related Bible passages that will help you better understand the meaning of the song.

Hangga't maaari, kabisaduhin mo at huwag mag-rely sa kopya ng lyrics kapag nasa harapan.

👉2. At kapag magli-line up, DON'T CHOOSE COMPLICATED SONGS.

Make sure na kaya mong kantahin at kayang kantahin ng congregation.

Mahirap kapag ikaw lang ang kumakanta at ang iba ay di nakakasabay.

Remember, God wants His people to be in one accord.

Kaya kahit maganda ang song pero complicated para sa congregation at di kaya ng music team, don't hesitate to choose a different one na easy lang and kayang sabayan ng lahat.

👉3. PREPARE YOURSELF SPIRITUALLY.

Fast at least once a week lalo na if ikaw ang magli-lead.

This will help you become spirit-filled at hindi lang "vocal ready."

Make sure you have devotions at puno ang heart mo ng praises and thanksgiving.

Do what God is telling you to do – John 5:19

Worship in private. Read great books on worship.

Finally, lead with the authority that has been given to you.

Know that you have been given the responsibility to lead people to Jesus, so lead confidently knowing you’ve been given the opportunity and you've been entrusted by your pastors.

Remember, continue learning and...
..BE A LIFELONG STUDENT OF WORSHIP! 🔥
