Alinsunod sa Proclamation No. 339, series of 2012 na nilagdaan ni Dating Presidente Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino III, ipinagdiriwang din tuwing Agosto ang Buwan ng Kasaysayan.

Patuloy nating hikayatin ang ating kababayan na maging aktibo sa pagtuklas ng ating magandang kasaysayan!

𝙃𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙤

The Island of Mindoro is the seventh largest island in the Philippines and was also part of Bonbon (Batangas) and Marinduque. The separation of Mindoro began in the 17th century and Puerto Galera (Minolo) became its capital and consequently, the City of Calapan. In 1950, Mindoro was divided into two provinces: Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro through the signing of the Republic Act 505. Early 1996, the islands of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro,Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan formed a new socio-economic entity– MIMAROPA. Later on, Under the Republic Act of 8475, Calapan became a City signed by President Fidel V. Ramos. In the year 2002, Executive Order No. 103 divided Region IV into Region IV-A(CALABARZON) and Region IV-B(MIMAROPA) and Executive Order No. 682 was issued to designate Calapan City as the MIMAROPA Regional Government Center.
Oriental Mindoro is a progressive province and has shown significant development and growth in various sectors over the years in terms of Economic Growth, Infrastructure Development, Education and Health, Environmental Conservation and Cultural Heritage; these factors make Oriental Mindoro a dynamic and thriving province inthe Philippines.
