"Zenkou" is a Japanese word that means "Good Deeds"

GoEco aims to give alternative solutions to plastics.
We condemn the use of Incineration in dealing with plastics.
This is why we use a recent technology called "Thermal Cracking" where compounds that make up plastics are broken down by means of heat by not allowing the plastics to burn.

If you or someone you know cares so much about the problem we are trying to solve,

This is what we're talking about when we say plastics that reach the oceans eventually reach our veins.

Tiny particles of plastic have been detected in human blood for the very first time. They canโ€™t be filtered out

๐Ÿ•ต๏ธEnormous amounts of plastic waste is dumped in the environment each year, which researchers estimate could more than double in the next 20 yearsโ€”from 188 million tonnes in 2016 to 380 million tonnes in 2040.
๐Ÿ•ต๏ธIt was previously known that humans were consuming plastic particles through food and water, as well as just breathing it in through the air, with microplastics detected in the f***s of babies and adults.
๐Ÿ•ต๏ธThe researchers analysed blood samples from 22 anonymous donors and found microplastic in 17 of them.
๐Ÿ•ต๏ธHalf of these samples had PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), which is used to make drinks bottles. Polystyrene, widely used in food packaging, was found in 36 per cent and polyethylene, used in packaging films and bags, was found in 23 per cent of samples, according to the research.

The levels are low - 1.6 micrograms (1.6 millionths of a gram) in every millilitre of blood - but are enough to raise an alarm.

Did you know?

That right in our backyard, between Cebu and Negros, lies the LARGEST Marine Protected Area in the country? It's called the TAร‘ON STRAIT, and it's got some mind blowing facts:

Taรฑon Strait Protected Seascape is the largest marine protected area in the Philippines, and the third largest park, nearly as extensive as the two largest terrestrial natural parks in the Northern Sierra Madre and Samar Island which protect the Philippine Eagle and other wonders. Taรฑon Strait is their marine counterpart, with an area of 5,182 km2, more than three times the area of the Tubbataha National Park.

The Strait is extremely narrow (27 km), long (160 km) and deep (500 m). At its widest, the Strait is only 27 km, and narrowest near the south at a mere 5 km. The deep waters which attract dolphins, whales, sharks and manta rays extend down from the surface a distance roughly half a kilometer. In Cebu City, this is equivalent to a jeepney ride between the Basilica del Santo Nino and Fort San Pedro.

Taรฑon Strait was declared a protected seascape in 1998, due to its diverse marine habitat โ€” 26 species of mangroves, seven species of seagrass and 18,830 hectares of coral reef representing 15 families โ€” act as nurseries and critical feeding grounds for young marine life. Additionally, researchers have identified 70 species of fish, 20 species of crustaceans and many unique marine mammals in the area, like dugongs and dwarf s***m whales โ€” and 14 species of dolphins and whales out of the 27 species found in the entire Philippines area in the Taรฑon Strait.

An estimated 3,500 Spinner Dolphins, 670 Dwarf S***m Whales, 640 Spotted Dolphins, along with countless Giant Diamond-Backed Squid and Pygmy Killer Whales call the Taรฑon Strait their home.

Want to be involved in mitigating plastic pollution?
Here are ways you can help!

Of course, it isn't our total burden to combat plastics. We need the political will to make corporations sway to an eco-friendly solution.

Learn your plastics.

As one of our basic commodities, we need to be introduced to different types of plastic and what they do.

Be a smart consumer.

This is how the Plastic Century all started

A brief history of plastic For centuries, billiard balls were made of ivory from elephant tusks. But when excessive hunting caused elephant populations to decline, they began to look for alternatives. John Wesley Hyatt took up the challenge. In five years, he invented a new material called celluloid, which would become known....
