Lorena’s privilege speech and vote during this historic milestone. ----------------------------------------- Mr. Speaker may I be allowed to explain my vote Bismillahirrahmanirrahim My courtesy and respect to our Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, our Speaker, my brother Atty. Ali Pangalian Balindong, esteemed colleagues, friends of the Bangsamoro and guests, Assalamu alaykum warrahmatullahi taala wabarakatuhu I thank the Almighty Allah for sustaining me in this long, steep journey for our self-determination and for peace. It has always been an honor to be a part of our historic journey for I have served in the peace process of the MNLF, peace process of the MILF, in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and in concluding many of our agreements. It is truly a privilege to have participated in shaping Republic Act 11054. The passage of Bill 29 or our Electoral Code firmly puts in place and establish the bedrock of our distinct identity for we are truly the only parliament in the Philippines. Our demand for new entity in a parliamentary system has not been captured by many, but the passage of Electoral Code will establish it. Secondly, the Electoral Code will define our future. The Electoral Code will pave the way for the selection of better, brighter leaders to lead our people, for it is in this Electoral Code that we enshrined a policy for strategic political policy such as regional political parties, district representation and equal representation to all brothers within the Bangsamoro. This truly reflects the identity of the Bangsamoro. The Electoral Code will also serve as a model for political transformation. It will transform, with the Electoral Code, it will transform not only our political culture but it will transform the political democracy in the Bangsamoro
