"The Scar Project"

With just a few hours before 2023 comes to a close, I want to share a new project to help fellow athletes recovering from injuries.

The mental challenge outweighs the physical pain we feel during these time and as an Athlete, Medical Professional, and a family person. I want to help others who are on the same phase of overcoming injuries.

This may be a physical injury due to a surgery, or a mental hurdle because of an unfortunate sporting experience.

We are here to listen and help you get back stronger. The scar project involves online consultation for free where you can message us about your injuries and share your experience to fellow athletes and motivate each other.

And for medical professionals (Physical Therapist, Nurse, Nutritionists) who are interested in helping this project.

As an athlete you have to know the difference between "Ambition and ability"

And this is true at every level of the sport, Going sub 3hrs for the Marathon, qualifying for a race, or targeting a PR.

I have hear a lot of athletes say I'm going to break a PR or win the race but what are the parameters that will prove that you currently have the ability for the set goals? 😕

Here are the following data parameters from 📊📉📈

First photo is my Milo Marathon Batangas 21km podium finish (June 11, 2023)

✅️ Base Fitness: 142
✅️ Load Impact: 150
✅️ Weekly training load: 1278
✅️ Recommended load: 490-784

This is one of my best performance this year considering the course gradient ⛰️

Now lets look at my current form 3 weeks before Singapore Marathon:

✅️ Base Fitness: 153 ⬆️
✅️ Load impact: 198 ⬆️
✅️ Weekly training load: 1452 ⬆️
✅️ Recommended load: 508- 812 ⬆️

As you can see all my parameters have increased and this gives me an idea on how prepared my body is compared to my goals.

These data will give you an idea of how you can perform on race day and align your current ability to your race goal.

A typical wednesday track session for us at Lion Pride Racing Team.

A 10 warm up jog followed by 5 x 100 meters at 3:30/km average. Followed by a 3km threshold at 4:30/km, 10x 1min intervals at 3:18/km average and 10min cooldown jog and 5x 100 meters lactate strides.

This is just session 1/2 for today as for the afternoon there will be another set of these 🥶
