Despite losing their page to the hands of movie-reviewing and Mario Kart-playing hackers, glyphs remain steadfast in their commitment to inform and empower the student body.

Refashioned as the campus media, The Petroglyphs welcomes all to a new era of journalism guided by its mission of engraving truth, justice and transparency within and beyond the walls of San Pedro College.

“𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙏𝙤 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬 𝙐𝙥”

All children, except some, grow up.

There were ones who’d turn into fine adults, would nurture their minds and learn everything that was wrong with the world and then learn more to find ways to fix it.

Then there were those who never dared to learn at all, the ones who happily frolicked in their ignorance—never growing up, never facing the real world, and would always possess the mind of a child.

Such was the tale of Peter Pan, utterly reckless and carefree that he drags a mature young lady by the name of Wendy to Neverland.

They have their adventures like all young children do.

Peter Pan and Wendy would do silly things around, mindlessly wasting resources, making fun of the underprivileged, and even supporting unethical leaders—like all young and immature children do. Venturing into the streets and slumps of Neverland, the two never seem to turn an eye into the harsh reality that their society is facing.

But as time passed by, the wind of maturity eventually came to Wendy.

Alas, Wendy’s good sense catches up to her. While she’s forever in youthful bliss in Neverland, people back in the real world suffer endlessly. Observing a world where people face distressing situations, have a hard time acquiring their basic needs, and injustice and corruption are happening face-on every day. It’s a sight she would not bear to look at indifferently.

She goes back to reality, leaving Peter behind.

“It doesn’t matter,” he says, distraught and missing her terribly but continuing his adventures nonetheless.

Years pass, and Wendy grows up making meaningful contributions to the world. Fully learning that the world is surrounded by politics, she gives her efforts into molding society into a pleasant place to live in. Engaging in organizations with positive advocacies, spearheading beneficial initiatives, and ensuring that she abides by the law imposed around the world—the young lady lives a fulfilling life, devoting all her efforts to changing the status quo for a better tomorrow.

In Neverland, Peter remains busy with children’s games and fighting off pirates. Life never changes for him, because how can life change for a boy who is forever a kid?

On the other hand, Wendy went through all the changes life had to offer. She reaches a ripe old age and passes away in contentment.

Why? Because she got to experience the greatest adventure of all—growing up.

In growing up, mentally and physically, and choosing to be conscious over naive, she was able to do something she hoped would make the world a better place.

And so from Neverland, the young lady chose to land. Land her feet on the ground, always on the service to offer help for others, while opening her eyes widely to the reality of this world. By focusing her eyes on the concerns that need to be addressed, while also seeing the goodness in things, she became the best version of herself.

She became like that of a Politi-pal.

As the future leaders of tomorrow, it is vital to instill 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 at a young age. We have a 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 🗣️ that allows us to be recognized, acknowledged, and heard by many. Together, let us learn to be critical and analytical in using our voices to aid in creating a positive impact in our society.

One man cannot fulfill a heavy job alone, but 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 👥, we can surely break down barriers that hinder us from being a 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚 and actively responsible community.

With 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, challenge the status quo and partake in the mission that will turn our community into a society that we all want, need, and hope for.
