📌Sarcoptic mange

📌Demodectic mange

Demodex canis causes the potentially life-threatening condition generalized demodicosis in dogs. These mites are often transmitted from a nursing bitch to her puppies. In adult dogs, the mites generally appear when the immune system is weak.

Lesions initially apear in the muzzle and paw. These can spread all over the animal to become a chronic condition.

Your veterinarian will take deep skin scrapings and examine them under the microscope to diagnose this disease.

If your dog is giving birth to a puppy stuck in the birth canal (in this case 7hours), the puppy may die. Take your dog immediately to the nearest vet clinic so the vet can remove the puppy and hopefully, deliver the other puppies.
