First recorded by the Benny Goodman Sextet, this song has been recorded and performed by various jazz instrumentalists and singers, including Lionel Hampton and Ella Fitzgerald. This is Nica's cover of a version performed by Canadian Nikki Yanofsky.
Santa Baby - Gabbi, Shaira & Nica
This song was first recorded by Eartha Kitt, and became a big hit in 1954. Many big name singers have done cover versions,including the Pussycat Dolls, Madonna and Michael Buble. This one is by Musikademy scholars Gabbi Sombilon, Shaira Opsimar & Nica Tupas.

Miguel Mempin - Your Song
Elton John's "Your Song" was featured in the hit movie musical "Moulin Rouge", where it was sung by Ewan McGregor. Musikademy pioneer Miguel Mempin sings this one for his mom in the audience.
Patricia Serrano - Tuwing Umuulan At Kapiling Ka
Ryan Cayabyab penned this soaring ballad; Basil Valdez first recorded it in 1985. It has since been interpreted by diverse artists including the Eraserheads and Regine Velasquez. Pat sings this for her first recital solo at Musikademy.
Nica Tupas - Bituing Walang Ningning
Nica performed the final solo for MUSIKAT 5, the OPM classic "Bituing Walang Ningning". This was originally sung by Sharon Cuneta for the 1985 movie of the same title. Nica's masterful rendition belies her youth - at 14 she is the youngest of Musikademy's scholars.
Pretty Woman - Sheff De Leon & Angelo Inigo
Musikademy coaches Sheff & Angelo performed this surprise number during MUSIKAT 5. They did the Van Halen version of Roy Orbison's rock and roll classic.
Jana Gonzales - If You Go Away
This luscious classic began life as a French ballad, "Ne Me Quittes Pas", but was later sung and popularized by Dusty Springfield. This is Jana's rendition for MUSIKAT 5.
Gabbi Sombilon - Crazier / When You Say Nothing At All
Taylor Swift's "Crazier" is mashed up with "When You Say Nothing At All" from the movie "Notting Hill". This is Gabbi's performance during Musikat 5: Movie Music Tribute at Abreeza Mall.
Empire State Of Mind - Musikademy Scholars
Alicia Keys' 'Empire State Of Mind' is now New York city's de facto anthem. Nica, Eunice, Yanie & Jana - scholars at Musikademy - sing it out in 4-part harmony.
Landslide - Ella Velez
Ella Velez, with Bingle Manalili & Jamia Cudilla on vocals; Sheff De Leon on guitar & Rigel Marino on bass. "Landslide" was a hit song in 1975 by Fleetwood Mac. Glee covered it during its second season.
Forget You - Mikhaela Espinosa
Mika Espinosa sings her version of Cee Lo Green's monster hit. The song was re-versioned with tamer lyrics and Gwyneth Paltrow performed it for Glee.
