A day in our lives

I have learned so much since becoming a mother.⁣
⁣
I’m a different person.⁣
⁣
I’m resilient,⁣
brave,⁣
and stronger than I ever imagined.⁣
⁣
Because sometimes I’m amazed at myself,⁣
by the fact that no matter how tired, burnt, and overwhelmed I am,⁣
how many mistakes I make,⁣
how many times I lose my cool,⁣
how much the guilt consumes me,⁣
and how much I doubt myself,⁣
𝘐 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨.⁣
⁣
Every single day I show up.⁣
𝘐 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦.⁣
⁣
I do all the things that need to be done for 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮⁣
and love them in the way 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 need to be loved.⁣
⁣
Because 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 are my resilience,⁣
my brave,⁣
and my strength.⁣
⁣
And for them,⁣

So much joy in this little boy.

God blessed me with one of each.

Some mamas are either all boy mom or all girl mom, but I got blessed with both.

God knew I needed someone as stubborn as me to teach me patience. Someone that would challenge me as a mother, but would also teach me to calm down more and just have fun.

And so, God gave me my daughter.

God knew I needed someone to teach me how to relax more. Someone who could show me how to have fun, act silly, worry less, and just enjoy motherhood.

And so, God gave me my son.

God blessed me with one of each.

I get princess dresses and superhero capes.

I get to play tea party and trip over Legos on the floor.

I get to paint her nails and braid her hair.

I get to wash the mud off his face and make him wear the tie at Christmas to make him look like a handsome, little man.

I get to one day go shopping with her for a wedding dress.

And I get to one day dance with him on his wedding day.

God gave me one of each . . .

And how blessed I am that He did.

I wish the whole world understood that "attention-seeking" behavior is really just a bid for connection. Our children simply want to be seen, loved, and understood, and they're doing their best to get their needs met.

The love you have for our child is truly special.

The way you wrap your arms around her and make her feel safe.
The look of her tiny hand in yours as you walk together.
How you place her on your shoulders, and she squeals with delight.
The joy in both of your eyes when you appear in the room.

𝐵𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒’𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑎 𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟’𝑠 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒.

How you talk to her about your day and your hobbies.
How patient you are as you teach her how to swing a bat.
The way you melt whenever she looks up at you.

The way you help her grow, and she helps you grow too.
How you remind her how special she is every day.
How you love her completely and unconditionally.
