Day 3: Thesis Defense 💪

Guiuan National High School held its third day of thesis defense presentations for Grade 12 students in the subject of Inquiries, Investigation, and Immersion. The education of our children starts by learning how to read. Reading is essential to learning and is an important life skill. Teaching children how to read is easy. But teaching them how to love reading is proving to be quite a challenge with mobile games and online shows dominating their and our everyday lives. Our school library, Guiuan National Senior High School E-Library which contains only a limited number of books cannot compete with the excitement and wonder a mobile game or a digital show gives to our children. We need to stuff our library with more books that children would love to read in their spare time.

It is in this light that we are once again knocking on your generous hearts to help us motivate and encourage love of reading in our children by stuffing our library with books. Old and new books alike are very much welcome and will go a long way in building our children's future.

"Grade 12 students get Hands-on Experience during face-to-face Curriculum Exit Orientation"

Grade 12 students eagerly participated in a face-to-face Curriculum Exit Orientation to prepare for the next phase of their academic journey. The orientation served as an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the curriculum's content and expectations, enabling them to develop a better understanding of the final year's academic requirements. The distinguished Guest Speakers were available to provide guidance and support throughout the orientation, providing personalized assistance to each student as they navigated through the program.

Overall, the face-to-face Curriculum Exit Orientation provided students with a comprehensive and immersive learning experience, which will help them achieve their academic goals and prepare for their future.

With the use of the Learning Action Cell (LAC), educators can work together, reflect, and take action on problems with content integration within and across disciplines. Teachers can participate in continual, collaborative learning that is aimed at enhancing student learning outcomes thanks to this method of professional development.

In order for students to understand how the knowledge and skills they are gaining in one subject may be applied to another, content integration fundamentally entails forging meaningful linkages between various subject areas. This enables learners to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as a more comprehensive awareness of the world.

Effective Content Integration implementation, however, can be difficult to achieve and calls for careful planning, coordination, and cooperation amongst numerous educators and topic areas. The LAC steps in at this point by offering an organized method of professional development that enables educators to collaborate in order to identify obstacles, share best practices, and create plans for implementing Content Integration in their classrooms.

Teachers can gain a deeper understanding of the integration concepts, explore solutions to problems, and work with colleagues to create and carry out successful integration plans by joining a Learning Action Cell with a Content Integration focus. This helps educators grow their own skills and knowledge, enhancing their capacity to support student learning across all subject areas. It also benefits students by improving their learning outcomes.
