Dr. Mark Tristan Quimque, a professor from the Department of Chemistry, bagged the Irene Villaseรฑor-KKP Best Graduate Student in Chemistry Award and won as Best Oral Presenter during the Chemistry Graduate Student Conference (CHEM-GSC 2024) held today, February 15, 2024 at De La Salle University (DLSU) - Manila Campus.
The event was held by the Kapisanang Kimika Ng Pilipinas (KKP) in partnership with DLSUโs Chemistry Department and the DLSU Instrumentation Facility. Moreover, the said conference also commemorates Chemistry Week, held between February 12-15 each year.
Dr. Quimque has recently finished his PhD from the University of Santo Tomas (UST), graduating with his dissertation titled, โSynthetic and Computational Approaches for Drug Discoveryโ, which was cited for the award. Currently, Dr. Quimque heads the Drug Design and Development Related Research Laboratory (DDDRR) in MSU-IIT's Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics (PRISM).
