Palm Sunday is a significant day in the Catholic liturgical calendar that marks the beginning of Holy Week, which leads up to Easter Sunday. It commemorates Jesus Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem, as described in the Gospels, where crowds welcomed him by waving palm branches and laying them on the ground as he rode into the city on a donkey. It's called "Palm Sunday" because of this tradition of waving palm branches. In Catholic churches, palm branches are blessed and distributed to the congregation during Palm Sunday Mass.
Palm Sunday invites reflection on themes of humility, triumph, and sacrifice. It prompts us to contemplate the significance of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, acknowledging him as the Messiah while understanding the events that would unfold throughout Holy Week.

Along with this season of love, giving, and sharing, St. James The Greater Parish will conduct a โPath to Confirmationโ seminar, a preparation for those who have not yet receive their confirmation. Brothers and sisters, confirmation is a significant Catholic Sacrament and one of the three Sacraments of Initiation, together with Baptismal and Holy communion, that signifies strengthening of oneโs commitment and deepening of baptismal gifts. This is really something to be joyful about because it is an opportunity and a very special gift from the Holy Spirit. ๐
