On September 29, 2024, the Local Government Unit of Bantay, in collaboration with the Local Youth Development Office, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, and PPSK Bantay, organized an Amazing Race to showcase the vast plethora of skills of the youth of Bantay. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Each station of the amazing race was designed to challenge the participating youth in purposeful ways. Ultimately, the race aimed to dismantle false preconceived notions about young people, and they succeeded! 🎉

The participants exhibited a deep appreciation for local culture while adeptly navigating the digital age, proving that they can honor their heritage while embracing modernity. 🌍💻 Despite facing challenges, including unpredictable weather, the youth showed remarkable perseverance. They danced in the rain ☔️💃, laughed in the face of adversity, and displayed a spirit of camaraderie that highlighted their ability to uplift one another. 🤝✨

Indeed, contrary to popular belief, the youth have grit, and they are more than ready to make a difference in Bantay! 💪🌈

The Local Government of Bantay, lead by the Local Youth Development Office and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office collaborated with the Rural Health Office and PPSK Bantay to organize an evening to recognize the outstanding youth of Bantay through the Pammadayaw and an appreciation of traditional and modern dance through the Sayaw ng Henerasyon, both in celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2024.

Are you ready to test your tech skills, creativity, and teamwork in this year's Linggo ng Kabataan? Join us in the Linggo ng Kabataan's Amazing Race, a thrilling series of challenges and obstacles that will surely stimulate the multiple intelligence of the youth!

📍 Location: Briefing starts at LCS Hall, Municipal Bldg., Brgy. V, Bantay, Ilocos Sur and the playing field will be around the Poblacion Area

What to Expect:
🚀 Digital Challenges: Embrace technology with interactive tasks.
🏛️ Cultural Games: Learn about our heritage by revisiting traditional Filipino games.
🏅 Team Spirit: Form teams, strategize, and race to the finish line!

Guidelines:

TEAM COMPOSITION
Team Size: Teams should consist of 5 members (residents of Bantay).
Age Requirement: Open to all youth of Bantay (15-30).
Diversity: Encourage diverse team composition (age, gender, skills) to foster inclusivity.

REGISTRATION AND BRIEFING
Registration: Participants can register on or before September 23. Contact the official page of PPSK Bantay.
Briefing: A pre-race briefing will explain the rules, safety measures, and route details.

RACE MECHANICS
Route: The race will include multiple legs, each consisting of various locations. Sequence of stations will be upon the discretion of the team. Playing area of a specific challenge will be limited, therefore, first come first serve will be the basis of accommodation.
Challenges: At each location, teams must complete specific challenges. These can be physical, mental, or creative tasks. Challenges must be completed to be able to proceed to the next challenge.

RULES
Fair Play: Teams must not interfere with each other's progress.
Safety: Teams must follow all safety guidelines and instructions from SK Council.
Respect: Teams should respect local cultures, rules, and the environment at all locations.
Rule Violations: Teams may face time penalties for violating rules (e.g., skipping challenges, cheating, or unsafe behavior).
Winning the Race: The first team to complete all challenges and reach the final destination wins the race. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams.
Disqualification: Teams may be disqualified for serious rule violations, such as cheating, disrespectful behavior, or compromising safety.

SAFETY AND SUPPORT
Emergency Contacts: Teams must carry emergency contact information and any necessary medical information.
Support Stations: Water and first aid stations will be available at each location.
SK Council: SK Officials will be present at key points for assistance and monitoring.

POST-RACE CELEBRATION
A celebration event will be held at LCS Hall, Municipal Bldg., Brgy. V, Bantay, Ilocos Sur, where winners are announced and prizes awarded.

On August 17, 2024 LGU Bantay alongside PPSK Bantay celebrated the International Youth Day full of color as young artists from the municipality razzle dazzled the audience and judges with their art using acrylic paint on canvas as medium.

In celebration of the vital role of our youth in nation-building, as recognized by the Philippine Constitution, the Municipality of Bantay proudly celebrates Linggo ng Kabataan with Sayaw ng Henerasyon: Ganito Kami Noon, Heto na Kami Ngayon Dance Contest! 🏆🎶

📍 Venue: Barangay II Multipurpose Hall, Brgy. II, Bantay, Ilocos Sur (Subject to change)

This year's contest will feature a blend of modern and traditional dances, reflecting our rich cultural heritage while embracing contemporary progress.

Event Guidelines:

1. All entries should have a minimum of 8 members and a maximum of 14 members, who may be either composed of all male or female or a combination of both.

2. Each group will perform a remix music from cultural dance transitioning to modern dance. All dance entries must be an original work and between 5 to 7 minutes in length. One minute pre-set is given to each group. After such, group’s time automatically starts.

3. Chronology of performance will be based from a draw lots on the days of the competition. Drawn spots are final and no changes will be entertained.

4. Any violation of the stated mechanics and guideless will be a basis for disqualification.

5. Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.

6. Organizers are not held liable for any accidents because of participant’s negligence.

7. Deadline and submission of registration will be on September 16, 2024.

Originality & Creativity: 30%

📅 Accepting submissions until September 15, 2024

The guidelines of the event will be as follows:

1. The contest is open to all Katipunan ng Kabataan (15-30 years old) residing in Bantay. One (1) entry per barangay.
2. Each barangay can have at least five (5) to eight (8) members.
3. Participants must create an original video with a minimum length of three (3) minutes and should not exceed more than five (5) minutes.
4. Participants are allowed to use music provided they give credit to the rightful owners.
5. Using video or clips from the internet is strictly prohibited.
6. The video shall present at least one of the Centers of Youth Participation (Health, Education, Active Citizenship, Environment, Economic Empowerment, Global Mobility, Agriculture, and Governance) in addition that it must promote the tourism of the municipality.
7. A submission link will be provided before the submission deadline of September 15, 2024.
8. The winners of the contest will be judged according to Cinematography, Editing, Relevance to the Theme, and Originality.
9. The top 10 winners will be posted here on the official page of the Local Youth Development Office – Bantay, and the 3 winners will be announced during the Pammadayaw on September 27, 2024.

We invite all talented youth aged 15-19 to participate in our Art Contest! This is your chance to express how digital pathways contribute to sustainable development through original art.

Guidelines for the Art Contest:

🖌️Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 15-19.
🖌️Original Work: All submissions must be original. No reproductions or copied work will be accepted.
🖌️Materials Provided: Acrylic paints (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Violet, Black, and White) and a 12x16 inches canvas will be provided. Participants may bring their own original rough draft or sketch.
🖌️Brushes: A 1-inch flat paintbrush will be provided. Participants may bring their own brushes or sets.
🖌️Theme: Ensure your artwork aligns with the theme “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.”
🖌️Judging Criteria: Works will be judged on Originality, Technique, Adherence to the Theme, and Presentation. Three judges will be evaluating the submissions, and winners will be announced on the same day.
🖌️Prizes: PHP 3000 for 1st place, PHP 2000 for 2nd place, and PHP 1000 for 3rd place.
