On March 9, 2024, the Girl Scout Council of Iloilo Science and Technology University Laboratory School hosted a backyard encampment at the school that brought together kids from various grade levels for an enjoyable and instructive experience.
The goal of the campsite, which took place in the school's backyard, was to provide the scouts a chance to gain valuable life skills including leadership, cooperation, and first aid.
Day two of the campsite began with a lecture by Mr. Ralph Christian C. about First Aid instruction. Participants also learned how to tie knots, badges presentation, and g a presentation about GSP history.
The scouts were urged to cooperate with one another and hone their leadership abilities during the campsite. They also learned vital survival skills.

On March 8, 2024, marked the First Day of the Iloilo Science and Technology University-Laboratory School's Girl Scout of the Philippines Backyard Camping, as preparation for the highly anticipated Camp Pasica 2024 in Di**le, Iloilo.
Surrounded by the beauty of nature, the Girl Scouts immersed themselves in a series of engaging activities aimed to nurture bonds, leadership, and outdoor skills.
The First Day Activities are the following:
- A Campfire Ceremony Orientation, where the Girl Scouts learned the significance of the campfire, the ritual, and its role in fostering unity in the sisterhood.
- Whistle Commands Orientation, taught important skills for better communication and teamwork during outdoor activities.
- The highlight of the evening, the Campfire Ceremony, under the warm glow of the dancing flames, they shared stories, sang songs, and embraced the spirit of togetherness.
- Cheers and Yells, echoed through the night as the Girl Scouts showcased their enthusiasm and team spirit, igniting the atmosphere with energy and passion.
- The creative talents of the Girl Scouts were put to the test in a Banner Making Contest, where they adorned the given white cloth with black and white symbols, reflecting their unity and shared values as a team.
Despite the exhaustion, it did not hinder the flame of joy and laughter from illuminating the tennis court of the Iloilo Science and Technology University with a sense of community and belonging. They shared moments, laughter, and wisdom, as well as formed bonds of sisterhood, with the burning fire serving as a timeless witness to their unwavering passion and commitment in the sisterhood.

Today, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Laboratory School Council is celebrating the Climate Change Consciousness Week, thus we want to give you a little knowledge about Climate Change, so that you can become more aware on how to prevent it.

🌎 Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns.
🌎 Consuming less energy or cutting back on the electricity use will lessen the need for the production of energy. Then, there will be a lesser carbon dioxide emissions that will contribute to the climate change
🌎Global warming is the long-term warming of the planet's overall temperature
🌎Pollutions are one of the main cause of Global Warming.

Last October 23, The Girl Scouts Officers attended the Mass Oath Taking Ceremony at the ISAT-U Multipurpose Gym. They all signed their oath of office and promised to serve the Girl Scouts according to their positions.

Today is a special day for all teachers, it is the day where their hardworks and efforts gets recognized and appreciated. These heroes helped us to gain more knowledge about things that surrounds us. We wouldn't be who we are today without our teachers.

CALL FOR DONATIONS: PROYEKTO SA QUINTO
Typhoon Agaton hit areas in Visayas since it entered the Philippine area of responsibility last April 11-12, 2022. The low lying areas of Northern Iloilo Province is one of the areas severely affected by the typhoon.
The Laboratory School Student Council, Senior Red Cross Youth, Girl Scouts of the Philippines and Boy Scouts of the Philippines- PROYEKTO SA QUINTO Initiative is making a call for donations in cash or in-kind which might include the ff:
📌non-perishable food (canned goods, noodles, food packs)
📌safe drinking water
📌eating utensils
📌slippers for kids
📌personal hygiene kits (facemasks, alcohol, vitamins)
The focus of relief efforts will be on areas most adversely affected by the typhoon, like the town of Barotac Viejo. We welcome any amount you can spare and contribute to the fund, which will be used for relief operations, and intervention to affected communities, and rebuilding efforts.
