New 3CMOBN Chief Pays Courtesy Call to 301st Brigade Commander

The newly installed Commanding Officer of the Army’s 3rd Civil Military-Operations Battalion (3CMOBn), LTC Luisita G Clavecillas II AGS (GSC) PA paid a courtesy call to BGen Marion R Sison, the 301st Infantry (Bayanihan) Brigade Commander on Wednesday morning, July 21, 2022.

BGen Sison welcomed LTC Clavecillas to the home of the Bayanihan Troopers. During the call, they discussed about the various Civil Military Operations (CMO) efforts in support to the conduct of Focused Military Operations (FMO) within the brigades area of operations.

Yes. The New Civil Code of the Philippines states that an illegitimate child is entitled to one-half (1/2) of the share of a legitimate child (Articles 895 and 983). So, if the decedent is survived by his spouse, legitimate children and illegitimate children, the surviving spouse’s share shall be similar to the share of a legitimate child. The illegitimate child is entitled to one-half (1/2) of the share of a legitimate child (Article 999).

Thus, the law does not treat legitimate and illegitimate children similarly insofar as inheritance is concerned.

ILOILO CITY KICK-STARTS FRIDAY BIKE COUNT JUNE 3

Iloilo City is all-set to start its first Friday Bike Count June 3 in time with the celebration of World Bicycle Day and launching of Annual Iloilo Bike Festival.

Mayor Jerry Treñas stressed the initiative boosts Iloilo City’s growing reputation as Bike-Friendly City and Bike Capital of the Philippines.

City Hall has been working with concerned offices, advocates and biking community in promoting bike culture and lifestyle.

The metropolis was awarded back-to-back Gold in Mobility Awards given by non-government organizations and Bike Lane Awards given by national government agencies last year.

The Friday Bike Count to be conducted on four Fridays of June is organized in collaboration with the City Government, Iloilo Folding Bike Riders (iFOLD), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 6, and Mobility Awards.

Teams composed of personnel of Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO), DPWH-6, volunteers will be stationed at 20 strategic locations, during peak hours at 6-8am and 4-6pm, to gather data about bike users in the city.

Organizers said the information will be used to help craft more inclusive and responsive policies that will further encourage active mobility, road sharing and safety.

Consistent data generated will be utilized in transport planning and monitoring of road infrastructure, and other potential opportunities that the city can optimize. (Iloilo City PIO)

This was the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, during the arrival ceremony for the second 97-meter multi-role response vessel (MRRV) of the PCG, the MRRV-9702 to be commissioned as BRP MELCHORA AQUINO today, 01 June 2022.

“Today, we have all the reasons to celebrate and rejoice because another source of pride and hope is with us this morning. The arrival of this vessel sends a strong message that our country is moving ahead as a maritime nation,” CG Admiral Abu said.

Moreover, the Coast Guard Commandant recognized the sailing crew of MRRV-9702 headed by CG Commander Patrick Babag for ensuring the safe voyage of MRRV-9702 from Japan on 27 May 2022.

“During the send-off ceremony in Japan, ang tanging pabaon namin ay panalangin for their safe and enjoyable journey from Japan to Manila. Maraming salamat sa inyo for the courage and the competence in braving the seas,” the Coast Guard Commandant furthered.

To conclude, CG Admiral Abu thanked President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade for allowing the PCG to improve its assets and pursue its modernization program.

The MRRV-9702, modeled after the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) Kunigami-class vessel, has a maximum speed of not less than 24 knots, and endurance of not less than 4,000 nautical miles. It is also capable of conducting sustained maritime patrols in the country’s maritime jurisdictions, including the West Philippine Sea and Philippine Rise.

The first 97-meter MRRV of the PCG, BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) was commissioned into the Coast Guard service on 06 May 2022.

These two vessels were under the DOTr’s Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project (MSCIP) Phase II – a Japanese-assisted project funded by an Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Also present during the arrival ceremony were: DOTr Assistant Secretary for Maritime, Vice Admiral Narciso Vingson Jr; Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd.’s Project Manager for MSCIP Phase 2, Mr. Nakato Nakamura and other representatives; Japan Marine Science Inc. (JMSI) Co-Project Manager for MSCIP Phase 2, Dr. Yasuo Nakajo and other representatives; as well as PCG officers and non-officers.

Natigayon nga madakpan ang hangkilan nga kawatan sa ginpatigayon nga hot pursuit operation sang Guimbal MPS sa Sitio Takas Brgy. Nanga, Guimbal, Iloilo, Mayo 31.

Suno kay PMSgt. Lauron, imbestigador sang Guimbal MPS, masulod na kuntani sa balay ang biktima nga si Ruby Gernade, 75 anyos sang brgy. Nanga, Guimbal, sang na sugata sini ang suspek nga si John Lorence Vales alyas "Lupog" halin sa salas sang ila balay.
