𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | 𝟬𝟵•𝟯𝟬•𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 The Student Executive Council, initiated an outreach activity entitled 𝘼𝙀𝙏𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙆: “𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨” at the AETA Community, in Brgy. Lampaya, Calinog, Iloilo. This is in Partnership and Collaboration with the JBLFMU-A clubs and organizations, Students, Faculty and Staff, and Titans Eagles Club. This outreach activity aims to highlight every individuals’ Community involvement and the value of giving back to the community. [𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘 4] 𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐍𝐈:𝐏𝐀𝐆-𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐃 𝐊𝐀𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐁𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐘 In the fourth episode of the alumni project, we present an inspiring story with our special guest, 2/M Tristan Geroso. “[John B really paved my way to succeed in life.]” – 2/M Geroso Looking back on his journey at JBLFMU-A, 2/M Geroso is full of gratitude and unforgettable experiences that brought him to the place where he is now. For being a leader, a scholar and a part of different organizations molded him to have faith and courage since it is pivotal to continue chasing our ultimate dream despite of any circumstances that will come along our way. If we want to achieve something, then we must possess the value of perseverance and determination until we reap the fruit of our hard work. At the end of the day, our success in life starts within ourselves, we just have to invest a right amount of knowledge and trust the process. In the opening part, we had our chosen student beneficiary, Mdpn. Christian D. Tumesa, who expressed his insights and thoughts on the question we asked him. Mdpn. Tumesa is a person who doesn’t give up easily. He will do everything just to conquer his dreams and live it with a purpose. [𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘 3] 𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐍𝐈:𝐏𝐀𝐆-𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐃 𝐊𝐀𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐁𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐘 In the third episode of this year’s alumni project, the BSMT 1 Senators present an inspiring video with our special guest, Chief Officer Jan Remar Suñer. “[With right motivation and perseverance, I can say that I’m on the road to success.]” – C/O Suñer C/O Suñer shared his life-changing story from being a part of the Polaris Class and Community Extension Services and how his Alma Mater (JBLFMU) molded him until he became an officer on board. His story is a living testament that despite all the challenges, you can still achieve success and grow as a person once you have understood the purpose of it in your life. Also, those who inspired you from the start will serve as your weapon to keep going and continue striving for excellence by embodying the Lacsonian Core Values and Culture. In the later part, we had our chosen student beneficiary, Mr. Clarence Naelga, who also shared his thoughts on the question we asked him. Lacson molded me properly to be what I am today]"- Captain Gonzaga In the second episode of this year's alumni project, the BSMT 1 Senators conduct a recorded talk with our special guest Captain Christian Gonzaga. Captain Gonzaga's experiences onboard served as a live testament to his unwavering drive to achieve success by embracing what his alma institution (JBLFMU) has in store for him. 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦. In their unrelenting advocacy for Disaster Risk Preparedness, four students from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (Arevalo), Inc. will represent the Philippines in the upcoming SDG Action Project plan by CityNet Yokohama Project Office. The four maritime students namely: Mdpn. John Michael Peñolbo, Mdpn. Angelo Mari Gonzales, Mdpwn. Kezia Camille Tenefrancia, and Mdpn. Marc Gerard Camba, developed the idea of Project AMLIG (Action Moving towards Livable Integrated Guidance) — a continuous project to answer the call of Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 13 (Climate Action), and 14 (Life Below Water). In coordination with the Iloilo City Government, Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), and CityNet Yokohama Project Office, the four students were successful in conducting their various sub-projects. From simulating evacuation plans at times of fires and earthquakes to capacity trainings in the communities, Project AMLIG will be ongoing. Philippines is susceptible to natural calamities, and the team oughts to advocate for Disaster Risk Preparedness. Afterall, they believe that everyone has the capability to take part in building a resilient community that is not reactive, but proactive.
