Lapu-Lapu City: My Home Town
I will use my skill to promote how beautiful and rich in history my beloved Lapu-Lapu City is. Come and let's explore with me!
I was not born here but I am raise and aware of different tourist spots, heritages and where the best foods are.
Roro Centennial Port is now considered as one of the visited places in Cordova, Cebu. Different activities from walking, jogging, biking, band rehearsing and some other stuffs. Food stores also were just around the area but this time they are now located across the main entrance of Roro. What is left now are the fishing boats anchored in the water. These boats add beauty on sunset view in the area. So, what's your Roro story then?
The most famous among the Catholic churches in Mactan Island. Celebrated every 20th and 21st of November and is one of the popular events of the year in Opon. The church situated at Opon proper where it is surrounded by different visited places like the newly renovated Plaza Rizal, Lapu-Lapu City Market, Public Auditorium and the public water Metro ferry boat going to Cebu City. The Birhen sa Regla is our redemption for us Oponganons and always our hope in this unfortunate times.
Sunset is a manifestation that endings can be beautiful too. Indeed it is! Look at this amazing golden hour view of Cebu City from the old Mactan bridge. I usually missed this opportunity because during sunset period I am still in the office. Nevertheless, I have weekend to capture this. Sharing you one of the best things when you live in Lapu-Lapu! Dali nah, daghan pa tag adtoan!
Look at this beautiful sunset transition. The colors are amazing. I know this is not part of Lapu-Lapu City but Cordova is the adjacent city and part of Mactan island so there is still that linkage. This Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLE) is one of the major developments the Cebu Province has yet to accomplish this year. There are lots of advantages this newest bridge has to offer and will make Lapu-Lapu and Cordova even more productive cities. Definitely a new tourist attraction one day.
The view of the Marcelo Fernan Bridge or popularly known as the New Bridge or Second Bridge. This bridge has more people around than the old one. There are residents nearby or even along the shore. There is also a small park underneath where people wants to have pastime like chilling, skating and biking. There are also small carenderia and stores in the area to buy food. You can also watch vessels passing by while feeling the breeze of the water.
Out of curiosity, I tried a different angle of the first bridge during sunset time. I decided to go down and see it from underneath. I was stunned. Yes, I was in awe for couple of miutes. It was really exciting as I would expect to get wet just to get the kind of view I really want.
Here's the result from this little adventure. Gears used were an ordinary variable ND filter and a tripod along with my ever beloved Fuji X-T100 and its kitlens.
By the way, this photo was taken during pre-Pandemic time. I just recycled old photos and edited it.
Hello there Mandaue City all the way to the mountains of Cebu! An amazing golden hour view coming from the Old Mactan Bridge where I stand mesmerizing your beauty. How lovely you are to be witnessed by many during sunset time.
Traffic? Yes. I won't argue. Looking at the brighter side of this situation is for the people just living nearby either in both cities is they can just walk across. Also, when you are on the bridge, you can see amazing view of the Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu City as well as the adjacent municipalities. I really enjoyed walking here especially during golden hour all the way to sunset. Look at this beautiful sunset, isn't it pleasing to your eyes?
Again, traffic? Yes. But I am enjoying the beauty of sunset.
The look of the 2nd bridge from the old one. Both bridges connect the island of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue City. Aside from the access for both cities, they are considered as one of the wonderful views when you board on a vessel. I can still remember when I go to Samar, I will not let it pass to experience the feeling of right beneath those two bridges.
