Mechanics and Criteria for the DIGITAL POSTER MAKING CONTEST 2024. This Poster Making Contest is part of the National Disability Rights Week (formerly National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week) through Proclamation No. 597, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. declared July 17 to 23 of every year, with 2024 theme “Promoting Inclusion: Celebrating Abilities and Advocating Access.”

MECHANICS:
1. Each participant should submit ONE entry only.
2. Open to all Las Nievesnon, Persons with Disability or NOT.
3. First come first basis with 10 total entries
4. The poster must illustrate, interpret, and emphasize the theme
5. Artworks must be done using computer program application such as Canva or Photoshop
6. The theme for the poster making shall be: ““Promoting Inclusion: Celebrating Abilities and Advocating Access.”
7. All entries must be pre-numbered. No other identifying marks will be allowed to appear in the artworks.
8. All entries shall be submitted thru online using email address [email protected]
9. Deadline of submission of entries on July 21, 2024 at exactly 5pm.
10. The entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
Relevance to the theme - 40%
Creativity - 30%
Originality - 20%
Persons with Disability Federation Choices - 10%
11. Prizes for Poster Making Contest will receive the following amount
Winner - 1,500.00
9 Consolation - 500.00
12. All qualified entries must be property of PDAO.

President Marcos has declared July 17 to 23 of every year as “National Disability Rights Week” to ensure full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and freedoms by persons with disabilities.

A two-page document of Proclamation No. 597 was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 13, reaffirming the government's commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

In his proclamation, President Marcos emphasized the Philippines' dedication to the UNCRPD's goal of promoting, protecting, and ensuring the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. To align with this commitment, he repealed Proclamations No. 1870 and 361, which had previously designated the third week of July as “National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week” and July 23 as its culmination.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), is tasked with leading and coordinating “National Disability Rights Week.” The NCDA will identify relevant programs, activities, and projects for the celebration.

All government agencies, government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and the private sector are encouraged to observe and participate in the celebration.

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office staff attend a 3-day 2nd Inclusive Governance National Conference at Bohol Cultural Center, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Mr. Dexter R. Sabandal, PDAO designate and Ms. Allyssa Mea Lusica, PDAO staff together with PDAO's from other LGU's attended until June 19-21, 2024 with the theme: " Disability Economics: Investing on Disability. Empowering Persons with Disabilities".

The said conference is from the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) and the hosting Province is Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Gipangunahan ni Mayor Karen S. Rosales ang gipahigayon nga turnover ceremony sa Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) building kaniadtong Abril 26, 2024, adlawng biyernes.

Kauban ni Mayor Karen sa turnover sila si Sangguniang Bayan Member, Hon. Jessica H. Navarroza; Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) Officer In-Charge, Elde G. Japos, Jr.; ug PDAO Focal Person, Dexter O. Sabandal.

Mitambong usab ang mga chapter presidents sa mga nagkadaiyang PWD Communities sa lungsod.

Unang gipahigayon ang blessing ceremony diin gipanalanginan ang maong gambalay ni Rev. Fr. Danny B. Arellano.

Ang PDAO nga building usa ka proyekto sa Department of Public Works and Highways sa rehiyon sa Caraga nga gipatukod para matagaan og kaugalingong gambalay ang PDAO nga mao ang mahimong sentro sa mga transaksyon ug mga buluhaton nga may kalambigitan ang mga PWDs.

Gipaabot ni Dexter Sabandal ang iyang pagtimbaya sa natukod nga gambalay.

“Dili na sila mataha sa pag dool sa buhatan alang sa ilang mga panginahanglanon.” Ang pahayag ni Sabandal.

Dugang pa ni Sabandal, mas mapadali ug mapasayon ang transaksyon para sa mga person's with disability tungod kay aduna na silay kaugalingon nga opisina.

Mokabat sa kapin 630 ka indibidwal ang mga naila nga PWDs sa lungsod nga mao ang makabenepisyo sa gipatukod nga gambalay.

Ang PDAO Building nahibutang sa Purok 4, Barangay Poblacion, likod sa Municipal Government Hall.

2,284 kun kulang ka Senior Citizens naka dawat ug 6,000 sa ilang Social Pension o stipend

Naka dawat ug 6,000 nga stipend ang mga Senior Citizen sa Lungsod sa Las Nieves gahapun, April 16, 2024, West side ug karun, April 17, 2024, East side.

Ang Social Pension alang sa mga Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC) Program sa DSWD tumong nga mapalambo ang kahimsog sa mga kwalipikadong indigent senior citizens pinaagi sa pagsuporta sa ilang kinabuhi adlaw-adlaw, medical nga kinahanglanon, pagpahupay sa kagutom, ug pagpanalipod kanila gikan sa kawad-an, pag-abyan, o pag-abuso.

Sumala sa Republic Act No. 11916, ang mga benepisyaryo sa SPISC Program makadawat og mas taas nga bulanong ayuda nga nagkantidad og ₱1,000 karong tuiga. Ang balaod gipasar niadtong Hulyo 2022, nga nagdobol sa bulanong pensyon alang sa mga senior citizen gikan sa ₱500 ngadto sa ₱1,000.

In the Observance of 2024 National Women's Month Celebration, the Persons With Disabilities Affairs Office of Las Nieves (PDAO-Las Nieves) is one with the nation in celebrating the occasion and promoting the rigths of every woman with disability

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in Las Nieves, promptly provided food and non-food items today, February 24, 2024, to three (3) fire-affected families whose houses were totally damaged in Purok 2-A, Marcos Calo, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte.

The distribution of food & non-food items assisted by Jeric Pallado, SWO II from DSWD-FO-DRMD together with Marline Baloria, SWO II from MSWD-Las Nieves and barangay kagawad from barangay Marcos Calo.

Each family received three (3) family food packs (FFPs), hygiene kit, kitchen kit, family kit, sleeping kit, and a collapsible water container.

Ang kapin libo nga mga benepisyaryo mao ang mga pamilya nga nabahaan tungod sa nasinating pag-ulan dinala sa Trough of Low Pressure Area.

Ang matag pamilya nakadawat og P4,000 nga ayuda ubos sa Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita (AKAP) Program sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Ang pagpang-apud-apod gipangunahan sa mga personahe sa DSWD Caraga Regional Office ubos sa pagdumala ni Director Mari-Flor A. Dollaga-Libang.

Mitambong sa pagpanghatag isip representante ni Cong. Joboy sila Atty. William Christian P. Dela Cruz ug Jay Rivero.

Misuporta usab sa aktibidad isip representante ni Mayor Karen S. Rosales, si Vice Mayor Virgilio R. Escasiñas Jr., kauban ang mga miembro sa 19th Sangguniang Bayan.
