Thought for Today | “Make this day a hallowed moment filled with God's presence, grace and mercy. Let it reflect the glory of the Lord through the lives of people who remained holy and faithful to Him. Let it not become a hollowed one which is empty, no meaning and scary. Pray and be holy.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “Blessed are you if you trust in the Lord; Blessed are you if you are meek and gentle of heart; Blessed are you if you fight for peace and righteousness; Blessed are you if you are pure of heart and merciful; and Blessed are you if you are for the Lord and for Him alone.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
CPNP Marbil Orders Enhanced Security and Assistance Measures for All Saints’ Day Observance
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil has directed all police units nationwide to intensify security measures and provide essential assistance to motorists and the public in preparation for the upcoming observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
This heightened deployment not only aims to secure communities but also to reinforce a sense of peace and safety across the nation. Gen. Marbil assures the public of the PNP's commitment to its promise: "Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang gusto ng pulis ligtas ka!"
“We want the public to feel the presence of the police, to feel secure as they go about their lives,” said Gen. Marbil. He also noted that police efforts would focus on deterring crimes such as ‘akyat-bahay’,” as many homes are often left unattended during this time.
“We are deploying more personnel to communities, cemeteries, transport terminals, and other areas where people traditionally gather to commemorate their loved ones,” he added.
“Our goal is twofold: to secure the community from opportunistic crimes like akyat-bahay and to assist motorists and the general public who may need help during this period. Police visibility and vigilance will be at an all-time high to guarantee everyone’s safe and peaceful observance of Undas,” the top cop added.
The PNP will draw from its past successes in All Saint’s Day security operations by implementing proven strategies, including strict patrols, security checkpoints, and close collaboration with local barangays and volunteer groups. These initiatives have effectively minimized thefts and other crimes in past years, particularly in crowded areas.
Additionally, Gen. Marbil has tasked all units to conduct preventive anti-crime operations in strategic locations while supporting traffic and crowd management around cemeteries and major roadways.
“Let this be a reminder to those with ill intentions that the PNP is ready and on alert. Our officers are here not only to safeguard but also to assist those in need on the roads and in busy areas,” Gen. Marbil emphasized.
As part of this shared commitment to public safety, the PNP encourages the public to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and follow safety advisories.
Thought for Today | “People and events may try to challenge you, discredit you or drive you away. But stay strong and firm drawing your strength from the Lord, from his mighty power. Wear the armor of God. Hold on to your faith as your shield and the Word of God as your sword.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “If a camel can pass through a needle, for sure, we can survive difficult trials. When facing a difficult task, act as if we cannot fail. Always keep a window open in our mind that God will help us. Things may be difficult but not impossible. We will make it through.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “Life will be meaningful when we have something worthwhile to live for. Serve with passion and make your commitment ever faithful. We only live once, but if we live a just and righteous life, one lifetime is more than enough. Choose to do good and make a difference.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
CPNP Marbil Cites Cops for Bravery in the Midst of Typhoon Kristine
The Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, lauded the heroic efforts of police officers deployed during the onslaught of Typhoon Kristine, praising their courage and dedication in the face of extreme danger.
“Our policemen have shown remarkable courage, putting their lives on the line to protect and save others,” Marbil said.
“From wading through dangerous floodwaters to evacuate children to safety, to rescuing entire families trapped in their homes, their selflessness and bravery are beyond measure," he stressed.
As Typhoon Kristine wreaked havoc, the PNP took swift action, spearheading rescue and relief operations across affected regions. Over 4,000 officers were dispatched to the hardest-hit areas, providing essential support in addressing the urgent needs of the affected communities.
In regions such as Bicol and Eastern Visayas, which bore the brunt of the storm, Disaster Response Units (DRUs) were rapidly deployed, along with personnel and mobility assets, to conduct large-scale rescue missions. The PNP also closely coordinated with local authorities in Bacoor, Cavite, where teams rescued residents trapped by rising floodwaters.
The top cop also highlighted the ongoing efforts in the Province of Batangas, where landslides buried homes and residents. PNP personnel, alongside rescue teams, are tirelessly working to recover victims and aid affected families despite difficult terrain and ongoing rain. "We extend our deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. The entire PNP stands with you during this difficult time,” Marbil said.
“Each act of heroism by our police officers brings hope to those in danger. They are more than just peacekeepers; they are the lifeline for our fellow Filipinos in times of crisis,” Marbil added.
The relentless efforts of PNP personnel have so far resulted in the safe evacuation of more than 300,000 individuals to temporary shelters. Ongoing operations continue to focus on distributing relief goods and providing medical assistance to communities in need.
Gen. Marbil emphasized that the commitment of every police officer on the ground is a reflection of their deep-seated duty to serve and protect, even under the most difficult circumstances.
“To all the men and women in uniform, your sacrifices are invaluable. What you do today not only saves lives but secures the future of our people. Your dedication makes the entire nation proud,” Gen. Marbil concluded.
The PNP urges the public to remain vigilant, stay informed by following official updates, and cooperate with local authorities as relief and recovery efforts continue.
Thought for Today | “Giving is not a duty but a joyous outpouring of gratitude; It is God's way of making us a channel of His love to others. Live with grateful heart and open hands to receive and share God's blessings. A close fist cannot receive and share; but a wide and open hands will.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “God will restore everything in time as He planned. Just have the humility to hope in His grace and trust in His ways. Such will be tested many times even to break points by people and situations. But keep on praying until we see and hear God's answers to our calls.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “When we are united to God, we experience peace, patience, kindness and deeper sense of joy despite the trials. The fruits of charity and love will naturally arise from a heart in union with God. Allow God's grace to make us be selfless and to act with kindness and mercy.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “A raindrop may be a small and insignificant thing in the grand scale of typhoons and storms. But somewhere, somehow, a thirsty plant awaits its fall. Never get tired of sharing your kindness and generosity to help. It's not how big the amount but how big your heart is.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
Thought for Today | “Storms are but part of the cycle of life. They come every now and then to supply and sustain earthly life. But their effects, good or bad, are dependent on what we have done. It is best to pray for help from above but more important is to do our part as good stewards.” - Rev. Fr. PCol. Julius Cruz, Deputy Director, PNP Chaplain Service
