Sarangan Scriveners, the official school-community paper of Nomoh Integrated School, is now opening its doors to aspiring campus journalists who aspire to become one of the vanguards of truth.

The publication is now accepting applications for writers, artists, and photojournalists.

The application is open to all bonafide students of NIS. To apply, you may submit a write-up or may contact sir Jaime D. Golven, the School Paper Adviser (Secondary), for more inquiries. The publication will be accepting applicants until the 30th of October.

LOOK | SCOUTING IS BACK!

After almost 3-year hiatus, BSP and GSP encampments were finally back!

Participated by a total of 78 students coming from Elementary and Junior High School, the Nomoh Integrated School commenced the 2023 School-Based BSP and GSP encampments today, Friday at 1:00 pm until tomorrow, Saturday, May 27, 2023.

To educate children about the importance of wildlife in Nature, The Sarangani Energy Corporation, BLGU of Brgy. Nomoh, and the School, spearheaded by Warlito Abregana Goyha , conducted a symposium for Community Educational and Public Awareness Campaign, on Thursday, March 16.

Schools from Maasim 3 District unite to celebrate International Mathematics Day

To enhance students problem-solving skill, different schools from Maasim 3 District celebrated International Mathematics Day through different Math competitions at Nomoh Integrated School's Campus on Wednesday, February 15.

Participated by 11 schools, Nomoh Integrated School gathered a total of five medals from individual and team quiz.

SDRRM heightens student's life-saving skills through earthquake drill


To ensure proficient and responsive security and evacuation process during emergency, Nomoh Integrated School intensified life-saving measures through earthquake drill on Thursday, March 9.

News on the possible occurrence of the eight-magnitude earthquake called “The Big One”, which has embraced the dailies’ headlines, prompts various government offices and agencies, establishments, and schools to take part in a simultaneous earthquake drills all over the country.

NIS’ School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Coordinator Benne Marlc A. Donato urged the school and the community to participate in the said drill.

“We cannot deny that an earthquake can’t be detected when and where it strikes. And we cannot deny as well that drills can heightens life-saving skills and lessen the possible casualties that an earthquake may bring.” Donato said

More than 200 students, teachers, including non-teaching staff and several parents staged an earthquake scenario where everybody should go out from their classrooms and move to the safety confines of an open field or stay underneath a solid object for safety.

In order to make the activity successful, Donato ordered his colleagues to facilitate and assist the pupils/students on what particular steps they need to take.

The drill lasted for 55 minutes where students executed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique to ensure safety during the occurrence of an earthquake.

“Preparation is a must. Because failing to prepare, we are preparing to fail.” Donato added.

Furthermore, the drill is a practical preparation for students, teachers, and parents to be better equipped with know-how on what to do, to stay alert, and to remain calm in times of emergencies not just for earthquakes but for other emergencies such as fire incidents.

Meanwhile, Warlito A. Goyha, the school head of Nomoh Integrated School, commended SDRRM's initiative for conducting the drill.

READ | NIS' Tardiness, Absenteeism shows significant decline, Intensified SBFP proven effective

Due to the rampant tardiness and absenteeism among the students and pupils of Nomoh Integrated School, SBFP intensified its intervention through 1 pack of milk per learner every day.

With the help of the DepEd’s Feeding Program, the said intervention started last October 27, 2022. more than 400 students of Nomoh Integrated School benefited the 10,000 pieces of milk packs. The milk packs are released every day during flag ceremony.

“The significant decline has proven the efficacy of our SBFP intervention. It is so overwhelming to see a growing crowd of students who attended the flag ceremony every day.” Dela Peña, SBFP Coor said.
