“Why I need to Save?”

Kids nowadays gets what they want so easily, which they don’t know the real value of it and that’s why it’s just easy for them whenever it gets broken or lost.

As a mom of 3; ages 9, 6 and 1 year old, I’ve been trying to figure out how to help them grow up responsible and respectful. As it was always my fear to leave them in this world, and I think for most of parents too to enjoy their life but wiser and stronger without stepping on anyone’s toes.

Involving children financially gives them awareness how significant money is . Where it should go, what it should be spent on first and most importantly how to make clean money using your own resources, skills, intelligence and experiences. As early as now, we let them do household chores with price tags on it for them to earn money and let them choose to “SAVE FIRST” so they can buy the things that they “WANT” in the next couple of months that was already on their wish lists that has a higher price/value or to “BUY NOW” to purchase with the exact amount they received but with a lower value on the efforts they made for a week. As parents , we never buy them toys for a regular days, only for birthdays and Christmas instead we let them play, eat and bond together to make memories. If they want something, they may opt to use their own money.

It’s not a walk in the park system at home, It’s hard, very hard. I made a lot of mistakes and I continuously learning from it. The Goal is to be better everyday and not te be perfect.

A FATHER'S LAST SURPRISE TO HIS DAUGHTER.

I'm mixed-up if I will post it or not. But I decided to post it for everybody to realize something and reflect.

On March 27, Kuya Pidot (Right in red shirt) and his wife ate Daisy, booked a car trunk surprise to us (Ohrganza) for their daughter Trexia (left) who is turning 17 on April 14. From the time it was booked to us. Kuya Pidot didn't missed a day to follow it-up to me up to the time of its delivery. He would call/chat/videocall me in the morning and in the evening to make sure that everything is okey. He would say:

"Mer surpise yan hah. First time kasi yan. Gusto ko masupresa yung anak ko."

I felt the eagerness in him to make her daughter happy. I felt a love that is so pure and great.

On April 14 (day of delivery), he called me, informing me that he can't be there because he's at work. But to my surprise, when we delivered it, he's actually there. Far excited than his daughter.

When we executed the surprise, his daughter was so happy and even cried. And when I looked at Kuya Pidot, I saw him teary-eyed. There, I saw so much love for her daughter.

Though he has work that day, he cant afford to leave and he just stayed.

This afternoon at around 11:00 AM, I received a bad news that Kuya Pidot passed away. Presumably due to heart attack in the midst of his work in the construction.

I was saddened. Quickly, I remember our car trunk surpise which I plan to post the picture today, this afternoon.

Kuya Pidot, you're such a great father. Salute!
