📣 SHOUTOUT sa lahat ng TATAY, mga tatay na patuloy na bumabangon at nagsasakripisyo para sa kanilang pamilya. Saludo po kami sa inyo.

Ating iparamdam sa kanila ang pagmamahal at pasasalamat hindi lang ngayong Father's Day, bagkus dapat araw-araw nating iparamdam na ang ating mga TATAY ang MVP ng ating buhay.

Ang pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalayaan ay tanda ng pag-alala sa makasaysayang proklamasyon ng kalayaan ng Pilipinas, mula sa kolonyal na pamumuno ng Espanya noong Hunyo 12, 1898. Ito rin ay pagpupugay sa lahat ng mga Bayaning Pilipino na lumaban sa nakaraan at ngayo'y naging inspirasyon para sa kinabukasan.

Kasama ang buong sambayanan, ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Mandaluyong ay nakikiisa sa pagwagayway ng Watawat ng Pilipinas bilang tanda ng ating kalayaan at kasarinlan, at maigting na nasyonalismo bilang Pilipino.

Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

🇵🇭 June 12, 2024 – Ngayong Araw ng Kalayaan, huwag po nating kalimutang bigyang pugay at pasasalamat ang ating mga 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 – mga bagong bayani ng ating henerasyon na hindi natitinag ang damdamin at katapatan sa tungkulin para sa sambayanang Pilipino! MABUHAY PO KAYO AT MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS! 🇵🇭✨

Ipagdiwang natin ang kalayaan at pagkakaisa ng ating bansa. Atin pong sariwain ang kasaysayan at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani upang makamit ang kalayaan ng Pilipinas!

Ngayon ay ginugunita natin ang ika-126 na Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas. Ito ang kasaysayan na dapat nating binabalik-balikan upang maging gabay sa ating kinabukasang may matatag na pundasyon.

Mabuhay ang Pilipino! Mabuhay ang ating bansang Pilipinas!

As our national flag first wavered at the balcony of Aguinaldo's house in Kawit, Cavite on June 12, our sense of independence and freedom was cemented and continued to live on.

Let us remember not only those that fought for our freedom from every colonial power that threatened our sovereignty, but also our fellow Filipinos today who continuously secure our country from those threatening it.

The fight of the Filipinos that came before is a fight we ought to continue, para sa kapakanan ng ating 'lupang hinirang' (for the sake our begotten land).

Nakikiisa ang Mandaluyong Local Historians Guild sa paggunita ng ika-101 anibersaryo kapanganakan ng ipinagmamalaking anak ng Mandaluyong na si Neptali Alvaro Gonzales.

Si Gonzales ay isinilang noong Hunyo 10, 1923. Siya ay nagmula sa pamilyang Katipunero. Ang kanyang lolo na si Fabian ay naging miyembro ng Katipunan samantalang ang isa pa niyang lolo (grand-uncle) na si Laureano Gonzales ay isa ring katipunero at pangulo ng Sangguniang Makabuhay (Mandaluyong), ang pinakamalaking sanggunian ng Katipunan na may 18 sub-chapters. Ang mga Gonzales ay isa sa mga nanguna sa labanan sa San Juan del Monte noong Agosto 30, 1896.

Dahil sa kanyang pagsisikap, si Gonzales ay nakapagtapos bilang valedictorian ng Philippine Law School at naging top 9 (92.50%) sa 1949 bar examinations.

Kilala rin si Gonzales bilang mahusay na abogado, bar reviewer, may-akda ng limang law books at propesor ng political law, Constitutional law, Administrative law at public corporation. Siya ay naging dekano ng Kolehiyo ng batas sa Far Eastern University mula 1976 hanggang 1986.

Nagsimula ang larangan ng pulitika ni Gonzales nang manalo siya bilang pangalawang gobernador ng lalawigan ng Rizal noong 1967 at nanungkulan ng dalawang taon. Siya ay tumakbo at nanalo bilang kinatawan ng Unang distrito ng Rizal na siyang pinakamalaking distrito sa Pilipinas (3 lungsod at 13 bayan na ngayon ay bahagi ng Kamaynilaan). Nanungkulan siya mula 1970 hanggang 1973. Si Gonzales ay personal na napili ni Senador Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino na maging kandidato bilang senador ng partidong Liberal para sa halalan ng 1973 ngunit hindi ito natuloy dahil sa pagdedeklara ng batas militar.

Bilang isa sa mga lider ng oposisyon, ipinaglaban niya ang bansa laban sa diktadura ni Ferdinand Marcos. Siya ay naging isa sa mga abogado ni Ninoy noong ito’y nalitis sa isang military court. Noong Abril 1978, isa si Gonzales sa 21 oposisyon na tumakbo bilang assemblyman ng Interim Batasang Pambansa sa ilalim ng partidong Lakas ng Bayan (LABAN) ni Ninoy Aquino. Natalo ang lahat ng kandidato ng LABAN sa partidong Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) ni Marcos. Kalaunan ay naging miyembro ng United Democratic Opposition (UNIDO) si Gonzales at naging Vice President for NCR noong 1982.

Naging aktibo rin si Gonzales sa mga kilos-protesta at gawain ng oposisyon noong dekada 80s kabilang na ang kampanya nina Corazon “Cory” Aquino at Salvador “Doy” Laurel noong Snap election ng 1986. Nanalo bilang mambabatas pambansa si Gonzales noong 1984. Noong panahon ng panunumpa ni Aquino noong Pebrero 25, 1986 sa Club Filipino, si Gonzales ay ang nagbasa ng resolusyon ng pagkilala kina Aquino at Laurel bilang pangulo at pangalawang pangulo ng Pilipinas.

Naging Ministro ng Hustisya ng administrasyong Aquino si Gonzales at naging instrumento sa paglikha ng Revolutionary Government at Freedom Constitution, ang magiging basehan ng kasalukuyang saligang batas. Tumakbo at nanalo bilang senador si Gonzales noong 1987 at nanungkulan ng isang dekada. Si Gonzales ay tatlong beses na naging pangulo ng senado noong panahon ng Administrasyong Ramos.

Ilan sa kanyang nalikhang batas ay ang General Appropriation Act ng 1988-1992, 1994 at 1998; Republic Act (R.A.) No. 6735, o batas para sa initiative at referendum; R.A. 7056, batas para sa halalan ng 1995; R.A. 7309, batas para sa victim compensation program; R.A. 8249, batas na naglalawak ng jurisdiction ng Sandiganbayan; R.A. 8291, ang Revised GSIS Act of 1997 at marami pang iba. Si Gonzales ay naging instrumento upang maging highly-urbanized city ang Mandaluyong noong Pebrero 9, 1994.

Dahil sa kanyang dedikasyon sa paglilingkod, tumanggap ng iba’t ibang parangal si Gonzales kabilang na ang “Most Outstanding Senator.” Si Gonzales ay naging permanenteng delegado ng Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) at ng ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Organization (AIPO). Siya rin ay delegado ng International Labor Organization (ILO). Si Gonzales din ay nakatanggap ng honoris causa mula sa iba’t ibang unibersidad ng Pilipinas.

Si Gonzales ay pumanaw noong Setyembre 16, 2001 sa Mandaluyong sa edad na 78 taong gulang. Siya ay inilibing sa Mandaluyong City Cemetery. Bilang pagpupugay sa kanyang kadakilaan, ilan sa mga lansangan, paaralan, ospital at istruktura ay ipinangalan sa kanya.

Si Gonzales ay kasal kay Candida Medina at biniyayaan ng apat na anak: Myrna, Aida, Rhodora at si Kinatawan Hon. Neptali "Boyet" Gonzales.

Ang pamana ni Tatay Tali ay tunay na mahalaga sa kapakanan ng bansa at nakipaglaban para sa hustisya at demokrasya. Tunay na idinadakila si Gonzales at mananatili sa .
